Stayed there 5 nights with my wife as in Singapore for holiday in August.
Booked through hotel's website as a Priority member of this hotel chain.
Got a good price including a 3 nights "Explore Asia" package with breakfast.

First impression when entered this tall building was" what a huge black Tower". It has 27 floors and we've got a nice Deluxe King size bed room on the 26th floor, as I've asked front desk. Check-in was good, but slow delivery on luggage in room, as they stop almost to new customers who checked-in.

Room was big enough for us 2 not too big or small, with comfy bed, standard bathroom, TV, A/C, free newspaper every morning and complimentary free bottle of mineral water every day (part of the Priority Member club I guess).
City view on Financial District from our room was amazing and we could spend the day watching this.

Breakfast buffet was good with large range of stuff (Western and Asian). The only thing is the staff there wasn't so nice and polite and they rush you out if you arrive around 10am as buffet closed at 10.30am. We did not found this so nice and gentle. They could have said this in a different way...I guess they're not too professional...

Used pool on the 6th floor which was big enough to swim after a long day out and relax on a sunbed.
Also had a drink at the Lobby Bar and they serve good cocktail and Wine, with Big Screen TV and Live Music in the Evening.

No MRT station nearby so if you're ready to walk 5-7 mins to Great City World Mall (for shops and very good Food court and free shuttle to Orchard Rd or Chinatown) or take taxi every day, then go for it. Otherwise, choose another hotel downton near Orchard Rd or Clarke Quay f.ex

My stay at the Holiday Inn Atrium was good. The room was clean and relatively spacious. They even added nice details that other hotels didn't include. They have have a number of universal electric plugs near the desk (so you don't need an adapter), a selection of pillows, a supply of complimentary bottled water every day, and probably all the basic toiletries you will need in your stay. The staff is really friendly, courteous and helpful. And there are even convenience stores and service shops located at the ground floor that are independent from the hotel.

So what's keeping this from being a great hotel? The location and the food. Being used to staying near the MRT station during my other stays in Singapore, it takes 15 minutes to walk to the one nearest this hotel (Outram Interchange). That's not bad if the weather is cold, but you'll definitely stink after basking under the tropical sun.

There are also no nice hawker centers in the area, which is a good place to go if you're craving for something to eat at night. And it being far from the MRT, you're sometimes forced to take the cab to go to the popular eating spots.

I availed of the breakfast for an additional price of S$20 per day. It was so-so and mediocre at best. I was expecting the menu on the buffet would be different from the previous day, but they hardly change. The usual hash browns, french toast, bacon, chicken sausages, prawn dumplings, scrambled egg, grilled tomato, cold cuts, omelets, cereal, fruits, breads, yogurts and juices are there every day. Only the day's special changes, which is a big disappointment considering the richness of Singaporean food.

So given a choice will I go back to Holiday Inn Atrium? Maybe. But that is if my first choice hotels are already fully booked.

My wife and I stayed in the Hotel for 2 nights in the middle of July 2008. We had a queen size room on the 20th floor. The room is a classic "cookie cutter" Holiday Inn room - not big, not small and has all the normal toiletries, desk etc. The bed was comfy and water pressure was decent. One small gripe was that the pool closed quite early at 9pm - and it was a nice looking pool!

We received one free Priority club drink each (beer, house wine or juice) for use at the lobby bar during our stay. Sadly the lobby bar isnt too flash but I'll suffer while drinking free beer! You also get two bottles of water per day.

One other very helpful thing about this hotel was that they two independently owned convenience stores situated just outside the lifts which stock all manner of stuff you might need from beer, water, crisps, condoms, postcards etc. Very helpful if you fancy having a couple of quiet beers in your room while watching the TV.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location is probably the hotels biggest problem. Its not close to anything, but not far from anything either. So, you are looking at around a 10-15min to get anywhere. Taxis were easy to get, reasonably cheap so in the end it wasnt a massive problem as we were there only two days. I think if I was staying in Singapore for longer I would look to go for a hotel close to a MRT station or within easy walking distance of Orchard Road.

We went for the breakfast option with our room booking which I was glad about as there are few local places nearby. The spread was fine and the coffee was passable.

Overall enjoyed staying there and definitely would stay there again if only staying for a weekend. However, if I was staying longer I would go elsewhere.

Nice clean room with quiet air conditioning.

Better than average breakfast buffet with real bacon.

Short walk to Clark Quay for dinner.

Only negative is that it is a long walk to Orchard Rd, taxi is alwasy available.

My girlfriend and I stayed in the Hotel for 5 nights from June 6 thru June 11th 2008. I used my Priority Club points for the stay which amounted to 15000 per night. I felt this was a deal as the Holiday Inn Parkview was 25,000 per night and the cash rates were comparable $230-260 per night). Being a Platinum member I received a nice room on the 11th floor, quiet side not facing the busy street..

The Queen bedded room was not enormous but functional for two. We received one free Priority club Drink for use at the bar during our stay. Two bottles of water per day were provided and we used the Minibar fridge to store them. There is a safe in the room.

The room was clean and smelled fresh. Good water pressure and plenty of electrical outlets.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the internet was very pricey. The cost was $ 24.99 per day thus we did not use.

The location was fairly quiet and was about a 15 minute walk to Clarke Quay and all the dining and clubs as well as the MRT station which we used often. Taxis were reasonable but they have a surcharge at certain times- like Monday thru Friday from 7-9 AM and 4-7 PM. I believe the rate is 50% more at those times. Also there is a surcharge after Midnight.

The pool was very nice for a Hotel IMHO.

There is a breakfast/lunch /dinner buffet which looked to have an excellent spread but we choose to use our funds at other local establishments due to the pricey nature.

Overall enjoyed and definitely would stay there again.
