Stayed here again and not disappointed. Upgraded to Club Lounge for breakfast. room comfortable and location, while not in the centre of things is a short walk or taxi ride from everything. Very helpful staff.

Staff extremely helpful . Decided to upgrade to Exec status - only a nominal amount - recommended . Great structure but showing it's age - especially when compared to local competition . Is however a good rate and I think represents good value for money . Breakfast is a bit of a scrum down and not too pleasant an experience . Ate in the exec area for breakfast after that . Good location . Short taxi ride to the quay area where all the best eating holes and bars are . Good value - but could be so much more if refurbished .

It was a great experience staying in this hotel,we love the swimming pool and the gym,the room is just perfect for our needs.The hotel is 15-20 minutes walk from the MRT but but fortunately the bus stop are just accross the street.We would definitely recommend to friends and family, and if given a chance to come back in singapore we will stay again in this hotel its just awesome.

To be fair, we are comparing this to the Holiday Inn, 981, Silom Road, Bangkok which was really excellent but this hotel really fell short of the standard we expected. We were on The Executive level but the staff in this area were not well trained or motivated. They appeared to be trainees.
The general Reception staff on the ground floor were willing but not very efficient.
Our Check-in was dreadful. We arrived at 1pm, for a check-in at 2pm, so we were prepared to wait in the Executive Lounge for an hour. After 2pm we had to chase them up several times but our room did not become available until 4.30pm. They did give us a temporary room which was not really very useful as we wanted to unpack and settle in to our own room.
The complimentary breakfast in the Executive Lounge was meagre. The second day we used the main breakfast room of the hotel which was considerably better. We would probably look for somewhere else if I were visiting Singapore again.

Room Tip: We found the rooms on the Executive Level not to be particularly good value.

Stayed one night only on business.

The Bias Level:
I have always had good experiences in Holiday Inns. 2nd stay in this hotel.

The Good:
- Room rates are cheaper.
- Location was not too bad, only 25 minutes walk to Orchard road (what? I hear some of you gasping)
- Breakfast spread was good.
- Glass view form elevator was good.
- Standard amenities and coffee-making facilities.

The Bad:
- Room smells funny. Called front desk to change to a non-smoking room and he told me "You are in a non-smoking room, sir". Sent up someone to freshen up the room but it still smelled stale.
- Rooms are rundown in need of refurbishment.
- Elevator takes time to arrive.

The Conclusion:
- Choose another hotel if you have 30-40 dollars more to spare per night, at least until they refurbish.

Room Tip: Building is circular so ask for rooms nearer elevator.

The staff at this hotel are by far the only redeeming feature. With little to compare this to in Singapore I am certain we could have found a hotel not only cheaper but with better amenities. The exorbitant room rate doesn't get you much, having stayed three nights my back got worse and worse after each sleep, the pillows and beds are made of a material similar in texture to concrete. The rooms were fairly small and upon check in found that our bathroom had not been properly cleaned - the exterior windows looked like they only get cleaned during a typhoon. The expensive internet access once checked in explained the mass congregation of business people in the lobby not willing to pay so much for 24 hours internet. The location is quite poor and places it smack bang next to nowhere interesting, furthermore upon check in we were hassled profusely to purchase breakfast for an outrageous cost and opted to seek food in the morning. The hotel plays this card particularly well knowing there are no cafes no breakfast shops anywhere in the area and in so doing forcing guests to pay more than 10% of the room rate on a single meal! The pool was nice being outside but was shallow and small and closed exceedingly early, the lack of video surveillance let alone life guards came as a shock when the pool and gym were often fairly empty. The lifts were another point of constant hassle - the hotel has 6 lifts but only 2 operate the first few floors and are unbelievably slow. Several times during our stay they even malfunctioned taking us to the wrong floor and then going back to the ground floor. Not to mention one lift was being "upgraded" but in the 4 days during our stay never saw anything approaching maintenance or work?? Overall I would highly recommend something closer to Orchard Rd or nearer the city and somewhere that has working logical amenities - why does a pool with no staff or safety close? The staff are well trained, polite and helpful, sad to say the hotel itself does not meet their standards.

I was on a business trip & stayed at this hotel for 15 days in Nov. I have absolutely no complaint and had an excellent stay here. I loved the service - be it from the front desk, or house keeping or food service or the concierge. Thank You for making my stay so comfortable!

Most hotels in Singapore do not have free wifi and charge a hefty amount for it. Same goes for this hotel as well. However, when I checked in (which by the way took less than 10mins), I requested the front desk that maybe my office had booked a package which included free wifi. Front desk confirmed that it was not done and that wifi was not free. However, within a matter of 2-3mins, they included free wifi for me (maybe coz of my longer duration of stay and the brand value of the company I was representing). Whatever be the reason- I was more than happy. :)

To sum up all the good things in points:-
1) Excellent linen, comfortable bed and pillows
2) Good bath fittings with bathing items
3) 2 complimentary bottles of water given everyday
4) In-room dining hardly takes about 15mins (excellent service once again)
5) Smooth and fast check in and check out
6) Excellent wifi speed
7) Ironing board and hair dryer available in the room

Once again, Thank you everyone. Keep up the excellent job that you guys are doing.
