I only stayed here for a night with someone as i needed to leave for Batam Island early next morning. Didn't get to enjoy the hotel facilities much but overall a comfortable stay i say. A nicely situated hotel near clubbing and dining areas.

Thank you for posting your review on us; we are glad you found our location convenient, particularly if you are getting the ferry service from the southern marina or harbourfront. Hopefully, your next pitstop here will allow you to enjoy our facilities more. Travel safe!

Near to the financial hub at Tanjong Pagar. Good connectivity of teh MRT(trains) to Raffel and other areas. Not much Indian Food. But one can find that near to the place just ask the reception

Thank you for agreeing with us and many other guests we serve to place us as a good business hotel, which is very much our positioning, too. If you chance to return here, please try the handmade prata (flat bread) with curry at the cafe located by the lobby. This is one of several Indian dishes we have available and we will look into serving up more in due time.

Forget breakfast it is 3 star, burnt greasy bacon, chicken nuggets labled as sausages, no pork sausages, despite having bacon ( so the no pork excuse does not fly) no yoghurts, and juice that tastes like water. Service is just as bad I asked for coffee 3 times, when it was eventually served it was typical burnt Kona coffee.
Vietnames restaurant had rats running around outside.( authentic??)
rooms very dated 90s style, old small TVs, no luggage racks, worn carpets, swimming pool has no atmosphere and the sound and smell of the hotel extract system does not add to it. Pool tiles cracked, towels thin, and worn out.

This was our third visit to Singapore our last was visit ten years ago but this our frist with our 2 year old son
Beautiful city, charming people amazing shopping, superb food!
The Amara was just extrodinary in that the level of service to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible nad it was exactly that.
Reqested a microwave to warm a night bottlefor our son,not a problem.
Requested late check out to 4PM not a problem and NO extra charge.
Restaurants in house simply outstanding and value for money - if you were to compare cost to similar service with quality of food in Melbourne but of course more costly in camparison to outside eateries. Taxi airport to hotel SGD 29
Very short walking distance to MRT, located in theheart of China town so great YUM CHA just quick walk away.
Across the road bakery and grocery store for any muchies you may require and a shopping store just to the right of the hotel with Hungry Jacks takeway - fast food eateries if you prefer.
Breakfast was great value and included in our room charge.
The bedroom was on the small size but clean, comfortable . Only complaint was the fridge was too warm and could not make cooler!
Excellent conceirge service.
Attractions:
Singapore Zoo taxi SGD 26 and a must to visit with or without children but can get very busy so try and arrive early and plan your day around the special attractions as will get very crowded.Highly recommend that you include tram ride with entry ticket and use this to tour the zoo in its entirety then get on off at speciifc sights as simply too hot and hilly to walk around. The elephant show is a MUST!
If you have toddlers or young children then remember to take bathers as there is a kids world with pool/water entertainment and they will simply enjoy this towards the end of day enabling parents to rest their tired legs.
Chili Crab go to the NO SIGNBOARD RESTUARANT that is the name of restuarant weird I know but several are located around Singapore city. Excellent crab..dont forget to ask for a bib though!.
Only disappaonitment are the hawkers eateries off Robinsons Road absolutley terrible satays...poor cuts of meat covered in the hair from basting brush. Ate a few and simply left. If intend to go order prawns and eat inside under shelter. OUr meal was so disgusting! and you are constantly harrassed to purchase hand wipes, BBQ smoke stench blowing in your face.mozzies biting you I would avoid as plenty of other superior alternatives to eat from.

So if I was to return to Singapore would certainly return to Amara. Great value for money!

Thank you for sharing your terrific experience with us, and for your encouraging comments. You can be assured that our staff will be reading your comments to help them all know how much their effort is appreciated, too. We are delighted to read just how well you found yourselves connected around town and even as far as the zoological gardens. This is absolutely true about Singapore's network of transport including the mass rapid transit system which is located right next to hotel. We do look forward to you and your family's return to Singapore, and we will be very happy to receive you all through our doors once more. Safe travel!

We stayed here for 4 nights and used it as a base from which to explore singapore. So lets get the bad thing out of the way first, its not great for food or drink being far to expensive when just over the road are some great local food outlets which give you far better value for money, and which allow you to eat like a local. Well thats it for the bad, the rooms are what you would expect for a hotel of this type and are adequate for all your needs providing your not going to be spending alot of time in them, which we didn't. Remember Singapore is a place to explore and not a place geared up for relaxing around a pool. An MRT station is located a couple of minutes walk from the hotel and all the best places to go are just a few stops away.

You have it quite right that Singapore is a place to explore and not be too holed up in any room! Food around the area is undoubtedly a real plus which most travellers tend to miss out on. We have tried to highlight that all the glories of old Chinatown and hawker fare is just a walk down the road but the humidity and heat of equatorial Singapore does leave many to prefer the air-conditioned specialty restaurants inside the hotel. These restaurants are a great draw themselves with truly traditional, authentic Asian fare from Vietnam, Thailand and China, for example, and genuinely unavailable elsewhere locally or in the region. So, if you do come back, let our concierge know and we will take you through our list of the eight authentic specialty restaurants and bars that make us unique.
