“Very elegant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 20, 2010

Very elegant place with comfortable rooms and spectacular view, like you have center of Singapore on your palm, which is even more spectacular while taking bath during the night. Of course, try to stay on executive floors. Hotel is huge same as swimming pool. In general no objection, unless a bit grandiose stile. The Leon mark is everywhere, even on the toilet paper, what is honestly too much. Rather for stopover or business than for holiday.

Stayed in Ritz-Carlton for 2 days on a business meeting. Very good location, at the center of everything. I could have anything I want in few minutes walk.

They truly have excellent rooms, luxurious as I may say. I stayed in a deluxe room and I love what was given to me, such a wonderful view of Marina Bay.

Short stay though but I love the treatment I received. I will stay here again whenever I will travel to Singapore for business purpose. However, I have to save big bucks to stay here longer.

We stayed in a junior suite in October 2010.

The suite was very spacious and well appointed.

Our suite had a great view of the harbour.

Not cheap, but nice if you want to stay somewhere special.

We booked this hotel through the Singapore Airlines holiday program. We stayed two nights. I chose this hotel because of its historical reputation and the fact that my husband and I were celebrating a wedding anniversary. We arrived late afternoon and left early morning so did not have any problems accessing the rooms early or needing late check-outs.. We had a lovely room overlooking the river. The bathroom had similar views. Previous reviewers are right - the hotel is looking jaded - particularly the carpet in the reception area. I was a little disappointed with the size of the pool but the gym is excellent - has hand-towels and earphones and fruit available at no charge to residents.
Did not eat breakfast at the hotel: the cost of the room was quite high and we thought it would be cheaper to eat elsewhere - and it was of course. We did have an evening meal there at 50% off because of the airline agreement. It was reasonable - not great. Simultaneously the buffet was also available which we didn't have but appeared very popular - particularly with people not resident in the hotel.
We had not been to Singapore for over 15 years and of course much had changed. The area around the hotel is pretty built up and we made the mistake of walking out of the hotel and making our way to the Raffles Mall along the main road. If you come out of the hotel and then go into the Marina hotel you can access the malls through the hotel without walking in the heat. We didn't realise this until our return journey when we stayed at the Pan Pacific - across the road. (see review). If this review sounds a little 'ho hum' it's because I was and still am quite disappointed that although this is a very nice hotel it is the staff rather than the surroundings which make it impressive and I am not convinced that it gives full value for the $ which other hotels in Singapore provide in spades.

From check-in to check-out the service at the Ritz-Carlton was exceptional. The public areas and amenities are luxurious and well maintained. The buffet breakfast was extensive and of high-quality, and the champagne brunch was very popular. Our bed was extremely comfortable and the linens luxurious. There was a great assortment of toiletries available too.

However, the decor/furnishings in our room were tired, the flooring marked, the toilet difficult to flush and the cleanliness so-so. I believe they are renovating the rooms, so ours was definitely on the 'to-do list'.

Nevertheless, we thouroughly enjoyed our stay and will probably do so on our next visit - but in another room!

One of the reasons why we decided to go back to Singapore was this hotel. It is gorgeously located on the milenia bay river where you can get a room with a river view which is spectacular. Get a suite or jr suite and you can have free access to the lounges for breakfast and snacks which was very convenient for us. Everything about this hotel is perfect from the moment you step it. The staff are very proffessional and freindly and will always be there to assist you. The food in the hotel is very clean and delicious, sometimes you just want to keep eating in the hotel and not experience places elsewhere. Its walking distance to the Merlion attraction and the Singapore flight (eye) it is also within walking distance of the theatre or opera house in singapore. The rooms are quite clean and the bathrooms are spacious with marble fittings. The bathtub has a giant window as you can enjoy the beautiful scenary while soaking your tiredness away in the tub. Highly recommended for people who enjoy a certain standard of service

Stayed at the Ritz-Carlton for a week on a business trip. The hotel works out extremely convenient for anyone whose work is centred around Raffles as mine was. I would walk everyday from the hotel to Raffles Link in under 10mins.

The Ritz is a great hotel with excellent rooms; I stayed in a Deluxe room overlooking the Marina Bay. The room was quite large had a huge windows which overlooked the Bay lending a wonderful touch to the room. Comfortable beds, a walk closet, an LCD is all that you should expect to see in your room. Even small details like a suit brush and small bar of swiss chocolate everyday were appreciable. I especially fell in love with the bathroom, which huge by aby standard! The bath tub was right next to the glass wall overlooking the Bay, giving you a phenomenal unobstructed view of Marina Bay.

I used the restaurants a couple of times during my stay, the food and service was excellent. However it was quite pricey; expect a basic meal with a drink to cost you in excess of SG$100. Also no free internet access is a dampener.

Ritz is a luxurious experience and it impresses by the amount of care that is taken of the guests and there stay; it however demands big bucks to make it happen.
