This is a really nice hotel in a very central location. Yes it is expensive but by Singapore standards it is actually reasonable value considering the location.

Rooms are of an exceptional standard, clean and the service immaculate. Front desk staff could not be more friendly or helpful

However, I will say avoid eating there and avoid the internet; it costs a fortune. There is a pretty decent internet cafe about 3mins walk up the street for a fraction of what you would pay in the hotel; also there are several inexpensive decent places to eat within a short walking distance.

This hotel was terrible the staff where very rude when asked a question they didnt know english to . They put us ina very small room the toilet rocked and banged everytime we used it. The bed was 4 steps from the bath room. The tv faced towards the door and we had no chair except the bed which was facing the window over looking the front desk lights on all night. When i asked to be moved was told i didnt pay for any other upgrade once i returned my travel agent found out i had paid for better room and was told we will look in to in thats almost 12 months ago and not a thing except sorry for bad staff there getting counciled for better people skills. My advice stay well away from there. PLease

Frist the positive - location is excellent. Close to CBD, Chinatown and Clarke Quay. Across road from MRT

Negatives?
A 'free room upgrade' should be to a better room, not a smaller room next to the lift shaft. Yes I was a lone travellor, that does not mean I expect a poor standard room.

The cost - Clearly stated on booking the 'Total Price' only upon checking out to be told this did not include Tax and Service charge. I even showed the desk staff their own website which does not show any reference to taxes and service charge, yet they were not interested.
Very very poor service, felt like I had been conned into thinking the price for a 5 night stay was 130GBP cheaper than it actually was.

I would not return to this hotel or recommend it - which is a shame as I have stayed at the Furama Riverfront before which was excellent, but on the basis they are part of teh same chain, I will not be returning there either.
A little bit of deceit has lost them a repeat customer.
Dissapointing and silly.

Location location. the location makes it worth it to stay at this hotel. room is decent. food, dont bother. and yes, the rate for internet is ridicolous. service is cold and impersonal. but what can I say, the location is so convenient. minutes away from MRT and shopping malls. intercontinental bugis would be my 2nd choice if I want to splurge, but if I am looking for budget deal, I'll go to Furama.

Stayed for 2 nights over a weekend in a delux room. Room was lovely, great shower and bath area , no noise so was easy to sleep. We had a very pleasant stay. Had breakfast on one of the days and there was a large selection of hot and cold foods. Not sure about chicken bacon tho...give that one a miss :-) They have an outdoor pool on the 6th floor. Wouldn't use the spa (not well kept) but was happy with being able to leave our bags there after a 12noon check out and return to freshen up in the shower room before flying out. Staff were friendly also. They have smoking and non-smoking rooms so make sure you request non-smoking if that's your preference.

Stayed for 3 nights in mid-October.

Hotel is in a great location, right in Chinatown, and easy walking distance to Clarke Quay.

We were in a standard room on the 8th floor, had beautiful views of Singapore, including the Singapore flyer.

Room & bathroom were nice, had everything you need.

Hotel staff were all friendly.

Would definitely stay here again.

The main reason for staying at the Furama has to be the location which is absolutely great for the Chinatown eating/shopping area and it's convient location to the MRT station. The wife and i just love the area and this was our second visit to the Furama this year.
The hotel itself is a good standard 3 star establishment in pretty good condition. The rooms being a reasonable size with a great bed and good facilities.Fairly good pool pool but unfortunately some maintenance work going on when we were there.Breakfast was so so but after the 1st day we decided to skip this and eat out where there are so many different options at far cheaper prices.
For the last 2 nights of our 8 day holiday we moved out as prices doubled for the Singapore Grand Prix and went to the Airport Crowne Plaza which was far superior and a better price.
All in all a pretty good hotel in a great location but much preferred the Crown Plaza which was only a 40 minute ride on the efficient SMRT.
