“Memorable hotel to stay even for family”

PROs:
- Upon an inquiry of room availability for a family with 3 small kids and 2 adults via email, the hotel promptly offered one with extra bed instead of 2 rooms unlike some other hotels.
- They also unexpectedly provided a room with good harbor side view, it was a great surprise for my family.
- Location is perfect for my purpose of visit in Singapore.

CONs:
- Swimming pool was not very exciting for families, perhaps it was designed for business guests.
- Nobody picked up several calls to loyal service, perhaps it was busy time and I physically had to go to concierge

The hotel lobby and room was beautiful and the view was fantastic. Staff are very helpful and nice. Aside from not having an outlet in the bathroom for the hair dryer, I have no complaints. I had my concerns since I had never stayed at this chain before but it was very nice.

The stay in Fairmont hotel in Singapore is nice, the location is excellent as the MRT station is just located under the hotel. Quality of service is good and the room is clean, gym room is excellent which opens 24 hrs. However, the interior design is a bit outdated.

Overall we had an excellent stay at the Fairmont. The staff were courteous and efficient, and we can thoroughly recommend their Italian restaurant (Prego) who also catered for those who are gluten free. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. The only down side to our stay was the laundry service- dirty clothes returned unwashed but pressed!! However, the fairmont did not charge us for this on departure when we complained about the laundry service. Overall an excellent hotel that is well situated and great value for money.

We booked n paid fully 2 weeks in advance and also gave them flight details that we were arriving at 13.00local time and we need an early checkin for 1 hour as their checkin time is 1400local time but when we reached no one is aware of the request and there was one lady at the counter who was very rude we came in from Dubai with 2 kids 7/8 years and it was long flight approx 12 hours to 14 hours and we requested the front desk lady name I don't remember ? She refused and said I gad to wait ? I told here that I only requested only 1 hour pre checkin and I also sent request but she did not care and she offered us to sit in their holding lounge ?
At 2.10pm she called us and asked us to come down to front desk ? But when we came down she is now busy serving another customers and makes us wait again?? With my little kids tired she never bothered even to look at us ?
Finally my wife got to speak to another counter lady who then checked with her and handed over the keys and half of the things she could not assist us as she didnot know what was our booking type n we were there FAIRMONT PRESIDENT CLUB MEMBERS ,!!!!!!!!! Very bad and even then the front desk staff never apologizes from us ??
Day 2 . The hot water was not working as they had renovated the rooms so we complaint about this and the technician came and said yes there is problem and said he will fix once we go out of the room ! When we returned late in night and found note saying everything was fixed but we did not bother as it was late ?
Day 3 .. When we get up in morning same problem ? No hot water then we complained again but no response and we want to take shower and go for sightseeing as we had our coach waiting ?
But no response , my wife went down again to speak to the manager who said she will come and said she was not aware of the last 2 days experience we are facing ?
We showed the duty manager the note left by technician saying he fixed everything but the problem still there and we waisted all the days in morning for taking shower and going out for sight seeing ? Also the hotel did not bother that when we had left our coach we needed to pay separate for taxi n also could not do the sight seeing ?
My wife wrote an email to the general manager which till date he has not replied of course at checkout one staff came and said sorry for that but that could not help us spoiling our holidays and missing many sight seeing tours ? As most of our mornings gor late to fix the problem and always ended up leaving the hotel by 1to2om in afternoon and everything gets over by 5pm . The bird pard , singapore zoo, and universal studios ,,,
But fairmont staff n manager least bother with that also being their FAIRMONT PRESIDENT CLUB MEMBER .... Still waiting for reply form general manager of fairmont ....

This hotel is not best in Singapore but it will do for the business traveller who wants no surprises. Rooms are ok, the service is satisfactory. The food is acceptable, although, I preferred the great bar/restaurant next door. The location is pretty good. In short, if you are here on vacation, go stay in Santosa Island or Marina Bay Sands. If you are here on business, you will not be disappointed but will not be blown away either.

near to shopping mall, mrt station, easy to go anywhere, easy check in also check out, very good location, and good services staffs, nearr to eslplanade, rafles city shopping mall, suntec, sun city, flyer
