“Shabby and poor service”

Room was very much in need of refurbishment and cleaning. Dirty floors, hair in bathroom from previous guests, mouldy areas and grouting in between tiles falling out. Walls also badly marked and didn't look as if it had been painted for at least 10 years. A shocking state for such an expensive hotel.
Service equally poor; tv didn't work other than showing the Fairmont advert saying how great the hotels were, no laundry bags in room; asked for one which then was not replaced, so had to ask again. Asked for a wake-up call at 7am which they forgot about, so late for important meeting. Used some items from mini-bar which weren't replaced. Used some of the coffee cups which were removed but not replaced, so no cups to make any coffee in this evening.
Overall a very disappointing stay in a dirty room with very poor service. Will definitely not stay here again.

Stayed here for three nights in a club room and had a great time. Room was very comfortable with a good view over the sea. A well appointed room with excellent amenities, slippers, gowns etc., good quality toiletries and a fantastic rain shower! Didn't much like the complimentary relaxing CD or the Philips sound system, it would have been better having a Bose sound dock or similar product.
Club lounge was very good and the spread of food during drinks at night was splendid. Free flowing Champagne and quality wines and spirits were much appreciated. One black mark was the unchallenged 'taking' of bottles of Champagne by a rather loud group of Asian people with the full awareness of the lounge staff. It was a bit disconcerting and should not have been allowed to happen!
Situated in a great location across the road from Raffles Hotel and close to all modes of transport. Everywhere in Singapore building works are ongoing and it starts early and finishes late, so be prepared for some noise in your room.
Nice pool area but I think it's shared with the adjoining Swisshotel, which is massive and makes getting a sun lounger a bit of a problem.

We stayed here for 2 nights sightseeing of Singapore before boarding a cruise ship. The hotel was pre-booked for us by Trailfinders although my daughter stayed here 2 years ago and recommended it. The hotel is perfectly placed for the shopping areas and main sightseeing attractions and is literally across the road from Raffles Hotel (well you have to have a Singapore Sling don't you?) Service at the hotel was excellent with extremely well presented and comfortable rooms (even the curtains are remote control). Breakfast was an extensive buffet served beside the rooftop swimming pool in a relaxed and unhurried oasis high above the bustle of the city below. If its service, comfort and value you're looking for in Singapore then seriously consider the Fairmont.

Generic. Like the Fairmont. But fine, in that context. The bed was comfortable, the duvet was warm, the pillows were soft. Didn't get to have the breakfast but it was probably not bad. The value for money was middle of the road. I have stayed in better and in worse places.

Traditional Room = Classic Room = Un renovated Room = Old, tired and dated (unbecoming of the brand). They don't tell you that when you book on line -- you have to read between the lines.

Got moved to a so called "renovated" room after expressing my displeasure. Grouting in the bathroom looked like it was done by the local handyman. Really quite amazing. Room also located next to a huge external fan that created a constant, unpleasant white noise.

If you are offered Room 832, take my advice and turn it down.

Have stayed at lots of Fairmonts but this one really disappoints. A shame. I'm only staying 3 nights so I can't be bothered complaining again.

Not recommended.

P.s. No slippers and desk light burnt out!

This place is just out of this world! The hotel is run exceptionally well ! From the doorman to the guys at reception, restaurant and housekeeping all work towards flawless service. I am so impressed with this hotel that I would wish to stay here every time i visit Singapore.

I have never stayed in a hotel with better service than this one! It covers all aspects of a 'wow' experience one looks for in a hotel accommodation.

not to forget the breakfast buffet .... its pure JOY !!

Highly recommended hotel, absolute seven stars!!

We spent 2 nights at this hotel mid-January. Quite frankly I cannot comprehend how anyone can find fault with this establishment. The bedroom was huge with quality beds and a view to die for-an ideal location with all amenities close-by. Book here with confidence!!!
