We had a great time at this hotel ... room/view/staff were all wonderful. The hotel is located very centrally making it easy to shop/eat/shop/eat and get to the next place to shop/eat. The hotel is located above a shopping mall, metro line and guests can use the pool of the neighbouring hotel which is great in the humid hot days. Singapore is underrated as a city (you can actually enjoy it) for families and this hotel make it easy to keep everyone happy.

We had a 2 night stop-over at this hotel following a trip to Australia. We found this to be a lovely hotel in a great location. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the service was good. We had the full buffet breakfast included in the price, which was good with a large selection. I am not sure how much this would have cost separately. The pool was lovely however it was shared with the hotel next door (Raffles the Plaza) and hence because both hotels had many rooms, the pool could be over-crowded in better weather (it was raining most of the time we were there and so did not make use of the pool, and it wasn't busy then). The hotel had loads of facilities, which we would have made us of had we been there longer. The hotel was located around 10 minutes in a taxi from China Town and about 15 minutes from the main shopping plaza on Orchid Road.

One suggestion for potential travellers to Singapore - make sure you visit the night safari - it is excellent! The zoo was very good too however, if you are only doing one of these trips I highly recommend the night safari. The Swissotel is about 25 minutes in a taxi from the zoo and safari but taxi's are VERY cheap ($13 - around 5 British pounds!)

We got this hotel for 70 british pounds per night (which included 2 full buffet breakfasts and our daughter ate free), so if you get a good deal like this then I highly recommend this hotel.

This is an outdated review, but I though better now than never??

Stayed at the Swissotel during their Xmas 2006 weekend promotion for SGD238+++ per night and found the stay only so-so. Not too much to scream about for a highly acclaimed 5-star hotel.

Time seems to be taking its toll on the hotel. I got a room on the 55th floor; the furniture are dated and looks worn out, with the wood peeling in some areas. Disappointed, I called room reservations and kudos to them, they offered me another room on the 61st floor. A porter promptly arrived to transfer our luggages to the new room, which was much better. View was excellent though.

There was complimentary high tea included in the package, but I went away disappointed. We had to wait 1 hour for our food, and it was just sad limp sandwiches and oily left-out-for-too-long puff pastries.

Cute of them to leave 2 gingerbread cookies on Xmas Day itself though.

I probably wouldn't choose to go back there again although the view was excellent. For a little more, conrad and raffles the plaza will be a much better bet.

We stayed at the Swissotel for a couple of nights after visiting Bali.

The hotel have excellent views from many of the rooms and also the bar/restaurant on the 70th Floor.

We had a room on the 46th floor which had views all over Singapore. They room itself was large with a modern bathroom. The decor is dated in some respects but not really too bad. We had asked for a double but they gave us a twin room instead which was annoying but the twin beds are in fact small double beds and they were fully booked so no chance of moving.

If you are staying here on holiday then you are likely to be below the 50th floor as those ones are for frequent members and business travellers, so if you want one with a view ask for one on the 40th floor.

Breakfast you have the choice of two restaurants serving pretty much the same thing. One is supposed to be more European and the other Asia but each of them serve the same food and to be honest there are less people in the Asia one meaning quicker service.

Overall good hotel in a great location with excellent views.
