“World class excellence”

This hotel is absolutely world class in every respect. We stayed their in a club suite for the first two nights of our honeymoon and it could not have been better in any way. The hotel pick up was superb and they went out of their way to assist us with a baggage problem we had. The arrival experience is slick and incredibly impressive. The rooms are beautiful, view amazing, lovely small balcony to stand out on. Lovely extra touches to suprise us for our honeymoon. Housekeeping fantastic. Club room second to none, service attentive and champagne free flowing. Would happily recommend this hotel to anybody and hope to return very soon.

On arrival first impressions were quite good; however we had just spent the previous 4 nights in the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, so we had a direct comparison.
Staff were very helpful and efficient here, but in several areas this hotel lagged behind its Hong Kong counterpart.
Breakfast was quite good, although the layout of the room was confusing. We did also comment to the hotel that hot food was left uncovered, so that it was only warm at best.
In public areas some of the decoration was very "tired", and the bedroom, although very comfortable, was also in need of updating. However the view from the room was terrific.
A couple of the elevators/lifts were temperamental, leaving the overall impression that the hotel needs refurbishing. Strangely enough the pool was closed for refurbishment - priorities seem to be wrong here ??
One final thing...........why do they need to charge internet access as an "extra"?

Perhaps if we had not come straight from another Mandarin Oriental, my assessment may have been different.

After a 10 day trip to Vietnam and Singapore with my husband who had been working in Vietnam on a project for 6 weeks, this was a surprise stay at the end of our trip. WOW, I expected very nice, but the service was so special I wanted to never check out. We were upgraded to a suite with a fabulous view from the 16th floor, wonderful beds, fab bathroom and the Executive Lounge was one of the highlights of the stay. We opted for the late check out package as our flight did not leave until 2am and that just added to the ambience. The pool area was newly renovated. We walked over to the new Marina Bay Sands and would rather stay at a hotel like the Mandarian Oriental on our next visit to Singapore.

Stayed briefly in this hotel with my husband who had gone to Singapore on business. The hotel is very near the main business centre of Singapore and has an imposing facade. Apparently every building in Singapore is influenced by Feng Shui or Vaastu, which explaines the architecture of the hotel.

Rooms are quite comfortable, if you do not mind the bath-tub to have a direct access from the bedroom through a frosted glass sliding door, in addition to the regular door from the passage.

Food was excellent with a wide variety of choices.

The location is very nice, and a short morning walk will take you to the backwaters.

There were moments of anxiety when the morning our due departure saw the failure of electric supply for most of the circuits in the room, except the one for the lamp. We moved the lamp to wherever we needed light to get ready, and that included the bathroom. The housekeeping could not rectify it in the few hours that we had to get ready. Similar problem was experienced by some of the friends staying in some other rooms. Probably the hotel had some major breakdown.

But for the above inconvenience, the stay was quite nice and enjoyable.

Solid typical Mandarin service with helpful and considerate front desk and concierge. Breakfast was very nice, with massive selection of American, continental, Chinese, Japanese, and South East Asian choices, although a bit crowded the days we visited. The lobby was renovated and looked nice, but the rooms are a bit dated compared to some of the newer offerings in the city. However, the quality of the service alone made up for the difference.

Stayed here two nights while attending a conference. Bed was very comfortable. Overall impression was very good. Rooms are nicely appointed with special consideration for business travelers -- no need to go to the business center given all the stationary and supplies already in the desk unit. I was on executive floor so was able to use the exec lounge on the 19th floor. Great setting for one on one meetings with food that was so nice I didn't bother to go to restaurant for breakfast or lunch.

Tried the gym; very clean and modern machines. All hotel staff are very friendly and helpful when asked questions.

My room faced the Marina so I could watch the Sands Casino grow daily. It got pretty hot in the room in the afternoon so had to crank air con all the wat to 18 degrees in order to work at desk which is right by the window.

My only complaints: Given relatively high cost of hotel room, why does hotel of this caliber still try to charge Sing $30 per day for internet? Also there was a bit of a long wait for taxi at peak rush hour times.

Overall highly recommended.
