The staff here are very friendly, polite and attentive as you would expect from this brand of hotel.
The food at the various restaurants are excellent with a good standard and variety for all palettes.
The rooms are well kept and clean. The house-keeping is very good and nothing is too much trouble. The linen and bedding was always replaced as necessary and in good condition. The usual tea/coffee, water and toiletries etc were all replenished as would be expected.
The swimming pool area was well kept and had plenty of towels, beds etc but the staff on on particular day could have been more attentive as no water was offered as would be expected and did happen to other guests. This should have been provided without the need to ask. However this is a small gripe on an overall very good experience and would certainly recommend this hotel, especially for the location. It is literally up the road from the Singapore flyer and not that far from Raffles, Orchard Road etc.
Highly recommend

avoid in all circumstances MO, Singapore....inhospitable property ever, dirty, outdated, out fashioned, un-furbished, hospitality "no one cares", uncaring, cheap quality toiletries, worn out towels, forget to do turndown service...you call for something in your room they will take agessss is not the word.....minimum 70-90minutes wait......very casual approach by staff....differentiate amongst category of rooms & suites one is staying in....DONT GO BY THE BRAND MANDARIN ORIENTAL, BECAUSE WE WENT BY THE BRAND & SUFFERED.....

The service at this particular hotel gave us a complete feeling of a stranger being unwelcome which is totally contradictory to Mandarin Oriental's MISSION "To completely delight and satisfy our guests."

wanted to have a smoke in the balcony. We humbly requested the house keeping team to send an ashtray to the room. After repeated reminders, the ashtray was not sent and finally sent after 1.5 hrs.

wanted to make our reservations for the New Years Eve, hence contacted Mr Junaid at the reception for some information on the series of events happening for the New Years Eve in the hotel in order to make our prior bookings and the neccerssary reservations for the same.....

This particular incident really shocked us, as to instead of providing the brochure which normally/specially is printed for the in-house guests stating Christmas and New Years Eve events for 2013 (which we discovered later from other in house guests) both me and my wife were told everythings sold out and no information of any kind was provided to us on repeated request to Mr. Junaid regarding the events at The Mandarin Oriental Singapore.....This is not one expects from Mandarin Oreiental Hospitality. Even though if everything is sold out it is important to update the returning/new customer on the events occuring in the hotel may whatsoever the case maybe....

returned back to the room on 27th December late night, at around 3:00 AM, we were SHOCKED, ALARMED AND EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED AND UPSET (The Words being less to describe as how we felt) on seeing the condition of the room. The room was not serviced, there were soiled linen and towels everywhere, unwashed cups and saucers, trash, clearly showing the room was not serviced even though we categorically requested to Ms. Jamie at the MO Reception....

they keep charging your credit card, irrespective of the fact you do any incidentals or not!!!unco-ordinated environment amongst staff....

WE WERE BILLED FOR IRONING OF GARMENTS AND EXTRA SERVICES THAT WAS ALL MENTIONED ON COMPLIMENTS IN THE welcome LETTER for club harbour suite...

I wrote to the group chief Mr. Edward ETTEDGUI on my return back home & suggested taking appropriate action against the team as it tampers the name of the renowned name of Mandarin Oriental The Luxury Hotels. I just felt Mr. Junaid, Ms. Jamie were unable to handle the team or be a part of the team and ensure effective co-operation and co-ordination.

Anyone Going To singapore, stay at a 4star but not at this mandarin oriental, where you will end up wasting your hard earned money....NO NO NO, THATS IT, WORST EVER.......

They have amazing rooms with every possible facility (except wi-fi which is not free) available which one can think of..
The rooms are highly comfortable and the housekeeping is excellent..
Staff is very polite and helpful.

Although in the first place i did not find the entrance and reception area very interesting. It was a lil dark and gloomy which in the beginning made the hotel unimpressive to me. The reception could be made a lil more contemporary and refined. But the rooms compensated for all.

The spread of breakfast they offer is really superb.. You think of a cuisine and you shall have it.. I was highly impressed with the variety they offered.

You can have an amazing view of the harbor from the hotel if you select the right room.
The pool too is nice..

Highly recommended..

Room Tip: Do select a Premier Ocean view type of room at the highest floor to get an amazing view of the harbo...

Every time I visit Singapore I choose Mandarin Oriental. This hotel is really the best (I tried many other so called 5* hotels). Staff is professional, check in, check out, conciërge etc all very smooth and friendly. They really make you feel like you're a very special guest. Special thanks to the manager and staff of the Dolce Vita, great food, excellent service. Rooms are great as well, good quality beds, luxury bathroom. Breakfast also one of the best, great choice, also outside dining possible. Hotel is suitable for business meetings (January '14) as well as enjoying holiday with the whole family (like I did last summer).

This hotel is a favorite. Great pool with a view. I find it better than the marina bay and the guests are more relaxed. The rooms are well appointed and mega quiet.
Buffet is unbelievable with everything you can imagine. Located next to marina shopping it has a good food court but the best is the hawker food tucked across the road.

On previous visits to Singapore, we have stayed at and loved the Shangri' La. This time we were unable to book the Shangri 'La so opted for the Mandarin instead, because some categories of rooms offered a late check out at 6pm, which was ideal for our onward flight. On check in we were advised that check out was 4pm but on querying this, they honoured the 6pm, as that was the policy when we reserved. 5 star service.
The Mandarin has a great location close to the Merlion, Marina Sands and Gardens on the Bay (better than the Shangri' La which is remote). The Cherry Garden restaurant was very good, service in the club room efficient and the gym well equipped.
The service was a little impersonal and the hair dryer was difficult to use as it was hard-wired into a drawer. How many people staying in 5 star hotels steal hair dryers!

Stayed at the Mandarin Oriental for 3 days before going to Thailand. We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with friends and we were not disappointed with any aspects of this hotel. Fantastic room with an amazing view, world's most comfortable bed, friendly helpful staff, and the choice of different food at breakfast was staggering! Would definitely recommend staying at this hotel as the location was excellent too!
