I stayed at this hotel after more than three years from my previous visit, and it was good to see that the hotel was well maintained and the level of service hadn't changed. Will definitely be going back...

Convenient services at the hotel pool side are very relaxing. The staff members are very kind, and offer several kind of delicioud drinks and small food just in time. We can enjoy seeing the Marina Bay Sands hotel building from the pool side as well.

lobby and in-room design was contemporary and nice, with traditional MO flavours. my harbour room with good views of the singapore flyer and the marina bay sands. hardwares were quite new in this hotel. comfortable bed.

needed to wait for some while before check-in although there were many staff (around 10 staff, but only 4 groups of customers) at the concierge, but had no idea what they were doing but just keeping me waiting......the check-in process itself was quite slow too. a staff then escorted me to my room and explained the room settings. very friendly staff.

location: accessible by esplanade station, could enter the hotel through the shopping mall "Marina Square", though you have to pass through some back stairs (but well-illuminated anyway, but could be frightening for tourists). could walk to the singapore flyer and marina bay sands conveniently.

breakfasts were wonderful, so many choices, cannot finish all dishes even on two days. perhaps the only bad thing is the limited refill of parma ham.

nice to stay here.

We stayed at the Oriental for 5 nights in Dec 2012. Having previously stayed at the Oriental in Bangkok, this is what we were expecting - however it didn't live up to our expectations. The main lobby was really dark & lifeless.... considering it was almost Christmas we were expecting many more Christmas decorations. We was also surprised at how expensive the internet was, considering we paid over £200 for the room, we thought internet would be included. We also found the staff were always trying to get more money from us. When we checked in they asked if we wanted to upgrade for approx £100 per night (extra 50% of the room rate) which we declined. Then when we enquired about internet, we were told if we upgraded to 'Executive status' we could have it complementary..... again it was expensive, so we declined.
However, apart from that we had a lovely stay. The staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Breakfast was amazing, literally anything you could have wanted... i'd recommend the pancakes! Location was lovely, near some malls and the marina. Best part of the stay was the beds though, they were exceptionally comfortable!
If we were in Singapore again, we wouldn't return to the Oriental. We would probably try the Intercontinental or the Ritz Carlton.

The hotel is in a great location. Views are beautiful. I had a suite and was a little unimpressed with the size though. The food was ok at the hotel bar but drinks were fantastic. A little annoyed i had to pay 30dollars a day for wifi. I mean who doesnt offer free wifi nowadays?? The staff was great and service very prompt. Everyone seems to comment on the great bfast but i wasnt that impressed. Overall its an expensive hotel. I believe u are paying for the service and location.

Service is impecable. All staff members are very well trained without exclusions. Breakfast is fantastic, almost everything one could imagine, both Asian and international. Premier rooms with Marina view are not very large, but cosy, very well equipped, and of course the view, especially at twilight. However one thing turned out to be very annoying for us: reconstruction just above our heads for the last two days from 11 until 17 o'clock nonstop with jackhammers and drills which was named by receiption "emergency". I dont get it. If they decided to merge two rooms into one larger suite why selling rooms below and not inform customers in advance. Minus 30% in promoter score.

The mandarin oriental is in a great location. Our taxi to the airport was SGD14 and it has spectacular views of marina bay. You can wander to heaps of malls and there is a nearby MRT. The rooms are beautifully appointed. The pool area looked very inviting with private cabanas and the breakfast had everything you could want!
