I have stayed twice at this hotel. Not just that its close to everything on my recent trip I found out that it even has a mall next to it that has a Starbucks and a 24 hr Mackers just in case you were hungry at 3 am. The restaurants on the river front adds to the delight of the location just that it can get really crowded after 7 pm. The rooms are nothing spectacular. My a.c wasn't the best this time, but the view from the 12 th floor to the riverfront compensated for it. I will come back to this place again.

Room Tip: When you book ask for what you want in the room. I asked for a good view and got it.

Be careful if booking this hotel as a family - if you want your kids to sleep in a bed, and not on the floor, that is. Booked and paid for a room for two adults and two children. Arrived to find we'd been upgraded to the Premier floor - very nice. But on arriving in our room, we found just one double bed - and no sofa bed, as is common in all the other Novotels across Australia, France and the UK that we have stayed in. What followed is why I have rated this hotel just two stars (the hotel itself, and the rooms, are actually quite pleasant). We went to Reception to ask them to accommodate our children, and they began to demand we pay for two rollaways to be put into the room. As we were staying for four nights, this would have added considerably to our (already very expensive) bill. Ironically, the hotel was widely advertising a "Kids stay and eat for free" policy - although for us this was irrelevant as we'd paid for a room for 2 adults and 2 children, and this was clearly stated on our booking confirmation. We stood and argued with the assistant manager for over an hour, until she finally backed down and arranged for the beds to be put in the room, with no charge. We had been up since 6am that morning, had had an 8 hour flight from Brisbane, the children were tired and hungry, and we just wanted to sit down and have a hot drink, but we were forced to endure this hotel's appalling customer services before we were able to do so. It was the last stay on a 10 week tour of Asia and Australia and, whilst being one of the most expensive, it was certainly the worst. It really let down the Novotel brand - we had a similar problem in Darwin, but with first rate customer service (gave that Novotel 5 stars). It doesn't matter how nice a hotel is inside, if a staff member is unfriendly and unhelpful, it ruins your stay. We won't be staying at Novotel Clarke Quay again.

Stayed here for 9 nights with our 4 year old grand-daughter. We had an issue with the air-conditioning in our room, I rang the duty Manager and he dispatched two technicians to our room within 5 minutes. They were unable to fix the problem so we were immediately upgraded and moved to another room. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The selections for breakfast were very good, always plenty of food no matter what time we arrived to eat. Great location for everything - MRT, dining, shopping, a 7 Eleven and Starbucks, McDonald's and Subway just outside the hotel and a Supermarket in the Basement level of the Liang Shopping Centre where the hotel is located. We also found many cafes also on the Basement levels of most Shopping Centres where the locals would eat, you could get very tasty and plentiful Asian cuisine meals at a very reasonable price. Enjoyed our time at this hotel and would be very happy to return especially our grand daughter who loved all the attention from the staff.
