Herbivore is a small unpretentious restaurant within 2 minutes walk of Ibis on Bencoolen where we found excellent well prepared tasty food on our visits there mid April and late May 2012.
We paid about $25 to $30 (Singapore) for a (too) large meal and drinks for two -in fact- be aware that the dishes pictured on the menu are in fact large and the photos are deceptive -ie dishes look smaller.
We were pleased to come upon this place where the service was fast and professional as we were staying at the Ibis where the food was...well... dismal. We were tired too and a short walk was perfect for hungry NZers.
I am not sure why the address apears at the top here and on Google as 'Middle Road'. Maybe the mall beside Herbivore goes through to Middle Road -but the restaurant entrance is on Bencoolen Street albeit close to the corner of Middle Road.
It's not just vegetarian btw -we had very good chicken and fish and beef too the times we ate there. And they have an espresso machine -maybe not the best espresso, no, but a decent effort.
