“a wonderful evening with family members”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

Once a year, our extended family comes back to Singapore to have our annual Christmas Reunion. We selected Alkaff Mansion as our choice. The decision proved to be a great family time together. The anti-pasti and the entrees were fabulous although the portions were generally small. The Angus beef for 2 was good and I liked the white asparagus with white truffle in particular. I wish that there is a wider wine selection.

The service is much better than most high-end restaurants in Singapore despite being short handed.

“Save your money”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

My husband and I decided to try Alkaff Mansion - not getting around to it on past visits. I had been here many years before for the high tea. You need to get a taxi to the restaurant which is near Mt Faber. The food was over, over priced for the plate sizes and while tasty, wasn't anything special. We chose the set lunch which was advertised for $36 SIN ++ - but somehow that was inflated, and with a few additions - the bill came to $154 for lunch for two. I had the pork belly and masked potato, basic and tasty, cheese platter and a few grapes for dessert - but this wasn't special. This restaurant might be fine for a special event - but just for lunch - ouch! The service was OK - although there was a sense of serve you quickly and get you out the door. Say no to the 'still water' and get the tap water...no difference and no charge. The views are minimal with the jungle taking on its own energy - which is a shame.

“Exceptional Service , good food in a beautiful setting”
Reviewed November 26, 2013 via mobile

I was pleasantly surprised - the place looked different from when I last saw it about 8 years ago when it was an Indonesian restaurant . The service was exceptional , so attentive and yet invisible . The food was a good standard . Although it's an Italian restaurant we decided to try some non Italian fare - lobster broth, crispy suckling pig and rack of lamb .... All those dishes did not disappoint .... Very very good .

“Quirky restaurant location in a historically interesting venue, good Italian food!”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

This is an interesting restaurant location in Singapore. The grounds are large and seem a bit under utilised as a pre or post drinks location. The staff are friendly, although the drinks service before dinner was a little slow. The food is great quality and Italian, and there is a good wine list. We were a group of 6 and although had made a general booking we were given a private room on the night which we really enjoyed. The staff serving the food were very attentive. I would recommend the private room as the main restaurant area can feel a little open if you are sitting in the middle. Good for small groups or couples but would suggest you discuss the specific seating to try and tailor it.

“Great atmosphere for dinner”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

I didn't expect much as it is difficult to find good Italian restaurants in Singapore. I would say this place has average food, but service is great. I would visit again as the atmosphere for dinner is wonderful- it is quiet, not busy and not crowded. I never saw such pretty sky at night with no buildings blocking up the sky. I would visit again if I feel like getting away from the busy crowd, and to enjoy small bites of Italian food. Cold cuts, Gnocchi and artichoke salad are good. Please make a reservation before you go.
