Great family room in the old part of the hotel. I loved the fact that you could open the shutters and the windows if you wanted to. A little bit noisy but nothing dreadful, didn't stop us from falling asleep. Plenty of room in the family room for 3 people. Bathroom was a good size with nice powerful shower and bath. Pool on the roof was a big hit with our 6yo although can we suggest some shade cloth over the glass pergola, shade limited. Staff were very good especially Mery and Abdul made 6yo laugh. Breakfast was a big let down though. I've never experienced anything like it, and we have stayed in a lot of Asian destinations. Very unusual combination of foods. Love the location, Katong district is gorgeous and we are so glad that we didn't stay Orchard Road/Clark Quay areas. Great mall across the road and Parkway Parade a couple of streets away. Buses galore stopping at the door of the hotel. Fantastic food right outside the door on the street and Brot Ziet German bar and restaurant across the road was a big hit. We will definitely stay again.

First the bad:

1. Wifi was terrible in the hotel room (5th floor). Worked well in the main lobby though. Wifi password was given with the room key, and I assume it was supposed to work in the room.
2. Breakfast was terrible; poor choice, not very tasty. Poor selection of fresh fruit. Also don't forget or lost the vouchers which needed to be presented every morning!
3. Bedside lamp didn't work (and wasn't replaced when I mentioned it).

Now the good:

1. Staff very friendly and quite helpful.
2. Location in Katong great for eating and buses into the centre.
3. The room was small, but clean and had good aircon.

We used it for our first 4 nights in Singapore. We then went to Malaysia but then on the remaining 4 nights in Singapore, used Village Hotel Katong instead; same area, better facilities.

I wouldn't say I would never use this hotel again, but I'd make a point of not including breakfast in the rate, and make sure the wifi worked in the room before unpacking.

Room Tip: Check wifi works first.

Close to various Katong delicacies. Walkable distance to East Coast Park.

Friendly staffs and value for money.Room was pretty small, cable tv was blur but it was clean and well maintained.

Definitely will be back for another staycation.

Clean and tidy room, friendly staff however limited services for business travellers. No way to print anything yourself or even if emailed to their office/reception desk. Breakfast unsatisfactory for Asian or Westerner tastes (I was part of a group so can say this with confidence), restaurant average in evening. Location good for I12Katong centre and many other eateries along East Coast Road.

The room and the toilet that I stayed had an odor. The wifi network terrible, very poor. The programs from the tv were bored n not clear. I did requested room that attached bathtub but when we get to our room there's non. Last but not least when I book the hotel from booking.com there's stated no deposit required but the staff there ask for deposit. I give 2-3 star for this hotel.

From the moment we walked in off the Street the staff couldn't be more helpful, I parked the car around the rear of the building and the next thing I knew my luggage was out of the boot heading to the room. The hotel is bright and clean, there was an error with my booking, my fault and the receptionist corrected it for me and up we went, room was Clean & Fresh, Fridge was full, Bathroom immaculate. We were only staying for 3 days and we thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality shown. Breakfast was my only criticism, it could have been warmer and more European than american, but hey I am a Brit.

OK price, nice for a family like us that needs a hotel near the airport with beds for the kids. We were in transit between flights so we did not have time to enjoy rooftop pool or neighborhood.
The breakfast seemed somewhat limited, but we didnt really have time for that also.
When we arrived, the hotel receptionist was reluctant to help with the luggage, to such an extent that the taxi driver almost got into a fight with him.
I really was too tired to bother watching it so I carried some of the luggages myself while the two guys exchanged chinese swearwords and spit. Eventually the hotel porter got freed up and came to rescue and helped us nicely to the room.
Amusing start, which could turn off any sizzy traveller.

The bathroom had a shower on top of the bathtub, which my wife hates, especially when there is no shower curtain and water was sprayed all over the bathroom floor. In prevention of that, I took a sitting shower - I was sick with fever anyway, which was not the hotels fault, so it all worked out for me in the end, with lots of entertainment.

BTW: I am a caucasian male and world traveller living in Jakarta, Indonesia and I am not of the sizzy type.
