First of all I would like to remind that the review I am posting here is based purely on the single occasion of this visit. Having said that, I have been to this place last time about three years before and I really enjoyed it.
The views are very nice, overlooking the Singapore River. The setup is great, as the atmosphere. It is a perfect place to go for a drink with some friends or your partner; or both. A bit pricey for sure, and the value for money is not balanced as far as the food is concerned. However you pay for a great location, some style and the IndoChine Group brand name.
In this last occasion unfortunately the service was unusually way below par. Although most of the dishes are for sharing, myself and one of my friends decided to order the same dish (chicken wings). The waiter stubbornly refused to take the order for the second chicken wings: at first I thought that he did not understand what we were saying. However at some point he explained that we had already ordered one, so we should order something else. He wasn't abrupt or rude, but all the same he was a bit out of line, and we were baffled. After asking the same questions for at least 6 times we told him that we wanted 2 serves of chicken wings regardless. To make a long story short, with the aid of another two waiters, after 45 minutes the second chicken wings had not been delivered yet. So we asked again, and we eventually were told by a fourth waiter that the order for the second chicken wing had never been placed. So we cancelled as we honestly had enough.
We were a bit disappointed by the attitude of the first waiter (he `took matters in his own hands for such a thing) and the lack of apologies. The issue is that this establishment will always have people going there because is such a great location; so in my opinion they probably don't really care about customer service. But if you happen to be served by normal staff I am sure you won't have a problem and feel rather different as opposed to the review I posted. I did feel different last time I went there before last night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Cafe Siem Reap. The ambiance is very casual and comfortable, but delightfully Cambodian. It's not too noisy inside (considering how loud Holland Village can get in the evening!) The service was the best we've had in Singapore and our meals were very good. My husband had, essentially, a strip steak (don't remember the name of the dish) that was cooked to perfection-but watch out for the sauce-it will light up your mouth! Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!

Great little place with very tasty food. I would come back here! Thanks to our waitress SreyNok who was just excellent.
