“Not a farm and not a market”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2013

Old, dated, dirty, smelly, unhygienic. We where lost for words.
At best It's a car park surrounded by businesses loosely related to animals plus a water feature/fake grass shop (only business worth a look) and a cafe/restaurant and a mini hawker Center.

We went expecting it to be a farm- it isn't. Nor is it a market or anything related to art. For farmart to market itself as any of these is a joke.

The only fresh produce available was eggs from an egg shop.
One business seemed to solely sell little pots of sunflower seeds to visitors to feed their small collection of birds which where chained to a handrail or kept in a selection of small, mismatch, tatty, old and dirty cages.
The prawn catching area, was dark, dingy dirty and smelly- a raised concrete pool surrounded by plastic chairs under some sort of canopy.
The animal feeding bit was much of the same "cr*p" dirty, dark, poorly maintained. 3 goats, a pond so murky you cold only vaguely see fish if the came to the surface, a frog pond, a turtle pond, caged guinea pigs, gerbils, rabbits all in small dirty mismatched cages. We only stayed around as long as we did as we had promised our little boy a trip to the farm and was hoping to find something in that place that could tick the box. To our relief, after two minutes of being in the pet feeding area, our little boy let us off the hook by holding his nose exclaiming "its smelly, wanna go mummy" need I say anymore.

Do not waste your time here.
P.s there was no art to be seen here.

“Just okay.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 3, 2013

Have been to this place many many times, the crowd to this place is lesser and lesser, as there are not many interesting features here. Just a few shops selling food stuff such as vegetarian food supplies, Local food stuffs from malaysia and some vegetables from local farms etc. My main purpose there is to visit the Cheng restaurant there, the food is okay, price reasonable and is not airconditioned but you can enjoy dining in the more nature environment, rather than in enclosed airconditioned restaurants.

There is also a western resturant, in fact their main biz is selling wine, a wine shop. Other than that, a few small stalls selling malay food, beverage, and my favorite BBQ stall selling Gong gong(a shell food) and BBQ seafood etc.

Not far away from there is a vegetable farm market, which only opens to publlic on sat and sun, sellng freshly plucked vegetables from their farm and some groceries. If you arenot keen to buy vegetables, then you can also go to garden to buy flowers which is nearby Farmart.

In fact this is not an interesting place that you will feel like going many times. One or two times there is already enough. But it's not a bad place to temporarily get away from busy city life!

“Interesting place for the curious”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 4, 2012

This place is like nothing else in Singapore. A tiny animal farm where you can feed animals in very small and dirty cages, prawn fishing, fresh produce stands (eggs, vegetables, fish you can scoop out of a tank to purchase) and some interesting pet type shops (birds, fish). There is a small hawker market with karoke on the day we visited. Food did not look fantastic though, eat before you come.

“nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2012

Hi, we have been there it was really a nice place. Interesting for the kids especially the parrots and other pets. I found it a really relaxing place, settled within a lush greenery far and away from the hustle and bustle of city life. All in all nice, except for the shrimp fishing, poor customer service.
Oh, and tryrestaurant near the Farmart entrance, nice BBQ dishes.
