Owner description: Take in sweeping views of the Singaporean Central Business District, have a meal at one of its food and retail outlets, and travel to Sentosa from the park. Mount Faber is certainly worth visiting, whether you’re looking for meal options or breathtaking city views.

After walking the trails above the jungles of nearby parks and the Henderson Waves you come to Mt Faber. What a great view from here, took the cable car to Sentosa Island. Fantastic views going down, taking in parts of Sentosa, the sea, the mountains, buildings, all of it. Very enjoyable.

Great city views. Worth going up there if you have time. Not much parking but if you ate up for a walk, you can park at Kent Ridge Park and walk across the helix bridge. Great if weather is not too hot or rainy.

My Singaporean friend had planned the route for our trip through the various parks, starting off with Mt. Faber, and I must say it was well thought out and I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

We all met at the Harbourfront MRT station, then went across the road to have breakfast at the food court (and bus station?). A good choice as there is a wide selection of local food at reasonable prices (vs. the ones available at the mall food court) Then, cutting across the car park, we were already at the entrance to Mt. Faber Park. Yes, there are lots of steps but it is such a lovely, scenic route! Take it slow, stop & take in the view, snap some photos and you will not feel tired at all! Love the beautiful tall trees that provide wonderful shade from the sun. Still, you may want to bring along some sunblock and insect repellent.

Once at the top of the hill, we made a detour to The Jewel Box for a look-see (since you're already there, you might as well). The cable car station is also here. So, if you want to head on to Sentosa, you can take the cable car ride from here and enjoy the great view.

The restaurant upstairs, which apparently is a popular wedding venue, is housed in a pretty structure made up with lots of wood, glass/acrylic and metal. Another feature here is the Bell of Happiness, an apt feature for all the weddings hosted here. After leaving here, we were back on track headed towards the Henderson Waves.

I loved this route and how you can easily continue on to the Henderson Waves, Southern Ridges, etc. You could also do it the other way round, thus making the steps in the park a little easier as you would be going down and then easily catch a train from the Harbourfront MRT station. Either way, steps and all, the route through the forest is worthwhile one and I recommend it!

I often visit this park. I avoid the Jewel Box, occasionally take the cable car, and apart from that prefer to walk past it en route to the Alexandra Waves and the treetop walk.
But the park is lovely.
Many paths (and steps) lead up to and around the mountain (it is actually a hill) and, most being well tree shaded, make for a pleasant walk even on a hot day.
It is at night that the true loveliness of the place comes alive. Climb to the highest point and simply marvel at the sight of Singapore to the east with its millions of lights. To the west, across to Sentosa and further north west to Jurong, there are fewer high rises apart from the new, and stunning, Reflections.
It is worth a visit any time, but especially in the cool of the evening.

We went there by cable car. Nice view (already from the cable car) over the city. The restaurant up hill was crowded, there were q's (a free drink there is included in many tours you can book together with the cable car), so we didn't entered. We walked around a bit, but no real signs fro small hikes are up there though we read afterwards that we probably missed some highlights (e.g. walks to parks close by)
