“Nice Cozy Bistro”
Reviewed April 11, 2012

We had a 3 course lunch. Each dish is flavorful and well executed. The food tastes good and the service is great as well! The restaurant has a bistro like ambiance which is nice because it adds a nice French touch to the dining experience. It is also good value for money!

“Decent French Food At Decent Prices”
Reviewed April 9, 2012

The establishment is set back about 100 meter off the main road in a side street. It is the little sister of Les Amis. The decor is a bistro setting. One open room with tiled floor and kitch paintings and Euro centric art to compliment the style of food. The room can get a bit loud if there are large groups. There is a wine room encased in glass to show some of the reserves.

The service is good. The staffs is attentive and pleasant.

The menu during the day has a set lunch available. I have walked by during the day and they seem to have a steady flow of clientele. The chicken I ordered was juicy and the sauce was creamy but not too buttery. The bread was very good. My partner had pork that was nicely cooked with just some pink showing and nice vegetables and caramelized onions. The sauces are French style and if you are minding your cholesterol this will challenge half the menu.

This is a good place for friends, business, established couples, and families.

“peux beaucoup mieux faire...”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

I tried for the first time the Bistro at Zion road, I already tried the one next les Amis restaurant and was not so "whaou"... and this one was the same...
The snails weres too salty and the "truffle" mash potato was horrible...there was not truffle at all but only drops of truffle oil the one any body can buy at a good grocery. The mash itself was not good at all , no butter no milk and not even fine (very grainy).
One of my friend give me to trie the Veal Blanquet; one of the basic dish for a chef... this one was served in a large "cocotte" pot without any garnish (rice;...) so you need to choose one and pay for it. Then the blanquet was well cooked with some button mushrooms and pearl onions as it should be but the taste was not there... not good at all ; no seasoning and too mush white wine who distroied the creamy sauce.
After this poor diner we don't even try desserts...

I really hope this place will find a better chef or traine the chefs more about french classics, coz it's a really nice restaurant ambiance and location and prices are note too high.

Bon courage... and may be à bientôt...

“Great French Restaurant with good service and local prices”
Reviewed March 27, 2012

Did some checking on the various French resturants in Singapore looking at the menu and prices. Selected the Bistro Du Vin due to its good choice of classical french fare and reasonable price. The restaurant did not disappoint. Reminds me of a typical restaurant in Paris but newer and with better ambience. Food was great and authentic. Portions were also generous. The Duck Leg Confit is my family's favourite main course. We shared the Souffle dessert and really loved it. I should also mention that the service was attentive and responsive. The total bill came up to be similar to dinners we had in Paris last year but in Singapore dollars. All in all a great french dinner at local prices.
Will not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good french food without burning a hole in the pocket.

“Excellent food & wine”

Lovely Monday night meal. The bill was S$600 for 2 and was worth it.

Similar to L'Angelus on Club St. Can't pick a favorite.
