I have been shooting landscapes in the gardens for many times and each of them gives a different character. During the day, visit the Botanical Gardens and the night, this purely belongs to the Gardens by the Bay.
The conservatories are well worth the money, first of all a fantastic respite from the humidity and the heat of Singapore and secondly, the sight of the gardens at night are lit up for a memorable trip to the Lion City.
Do remember to bring the tripod when you visit the Gardens by the Bay South. If you are up to walk for another hour or so, go across the water body via the Marina Barrage and it will afford you a beautiful panoramic view of the city skyline, bordered by the Marina Bay Sands and the Singapore Flyer with the CBD sandwiched in between.
