Owner description: Holland Village Singapore is a hamlet tucked away behind the Singapore Botanic Gardens and is less that 10 minutes away from Orchard Road. This little spot has been referred to as Singapore's "Bohemian" enclave because of its variety of art and craft shops, art galleries, art framing specialists, street cobblers, gift shops, novelty shops, gourmet takeaway outlets, wine cellars, organic food outlets, custom-made shoes shop, imported kitchenware store, body waxing specialists, international school uniform tailors, master tailors, theme party clothing store, tarot card readers, ethnic home decor articles, fine dining restaurants and many other interesting shops. These outlets serve the residents of the surrounding upper and middle class estates. You can witness expatriate housewives spending their day here having breakfast, running errands, meeting up friends for lunch and enjoying a nail spa before shopping for groceries and heading home.Retail establishments are located along four streets and two shopping buildings. These streets are: (i) Jalan Merah Saga (ii) Holland Avenue (iii) Lorong Liput and (iv) Lorong Mambong. The shopping buildings are: (i) Holland Road Shopping Centre, which is along Holland Avenue, and (ii) Holland V Shopping Mall, which is presently being redeveloped, along Lorong Liput. These two buildings are often casually referred to by sales assistants as Holland Village Shopping Centre, which is a non-existent building. All these streets are within walking distances and it is a good place to spend the day strolling, relaxing in a spa, shopping, having the meal of your choice and seeing the world go by at one of its famous pubs.

Good hawker centre. Good bars and casual restaurants. Best feature is that streets are closed to autos at 7 PM each evening to allow pedestrians to circulate freely.

Holland Village offers a unique experience. The interior streets are free of traffic, so that eateries can set up tables on the road. Restaurants like Al Hambra and La Nonna are popular with tourists and expatriate residents alike. The Academy of Rock casts its neon spell onthe revellers, especially in the weekends. Great food. Wonderful ambience. A must visit

I live here. You have everything you need in Holland village.
We have fantastic food and drinks here. I have friends lamenting my good fortune to be staying in this area. A must visit to get good local feel.

It is neither Holland like nor a village. It is no doubt a misnomer. It is an area comprising a variety of Restaurants, departmental stores and different kinds of roadside shops and other commercial establishments. It is busy and easily accessible by road and MRT. The nearest MRT station being Holland Village. Taxis also ply in this area. The Cold Storage is a store, which is famous in this area. The store is full of various goods like fresh fruits & vegetables etc. There are also fresh dairy products & non-vegetarian food items.
There are lot of westerners seen hanging in this area along with travellers of other regions & enjoying this unique place in Singapore. There is a small mosque in the area in the midst of the parking area. Parking of vehicles appears to be little difficult. On a pleasant day, a visit to this place with family &friends, and dining in a good Restaurant will be a nice experience. But one should not have any high expectations about this place, lest he will be disappointed.

This place is a parking nightmare. Even before you start to enjoy the place, the bad parking experience will ruin your trip!

I find the place is also losing it's charm. It is now much more commercial and not as relaxed as before. Sad....
