Our room's shower continuously varied between too hot to too cold every half-minute or so. After 2 requests for it to be repaired (once in writing) with nothing done, we left the hotel. Our room also had small bugs and a friend's room had larger bugs.

i stayed at this ibis hotel 2 months after its opening, it seems that a few taxi driver knew the location.
after we arrived from the airport and getting down at the nearest Novena MRT station, we just kew that the hotel is still far away from the-what-they-call-novena, we need to walk 15 minutes to reach the hotel, they should name it Ibis Balestier i think.

beside that, i experienced the efficient check in, but the hotel had no lobby to wait or sit just like the ordinary branded 3 star hotel.

the room was still fully furnished because it's new but very small, the smallest room i ever had with ibis brand, everything is small.
the bathrooml; they have a complete set of amenities but you can't move without touching anything. they don't provide mineral water because potable water is safe to drink.

but every dissapointment dissappeared when we had a long good night sleep and wake up late the day after.

Room Tip: get the top floor and you'll get the best view

I travel alot and stay at Ibis hotels. I found this hotel ibis in Singapore much more upmarket then what I am used to.

Great value in Singapore. He has everything we needed and a very nice bed. For me with all the travelling I do, thsi was the best bed I slept in for a long time and i did not expect this in a ibis type of hotel. May be because it is brand new, anyway it was a great bed.

It is a brand new hotel and only been open for few months I think. The staff are friendly and wiling to help.

We needed to go to Marina Bay sands and on the map it looked like it was so far away. The very helpful staff at front desk gave us tips about travelling in singapore and we were got to marina bay sands in 15 monutes in a taxi. The cost of taxi in singapore is very cheap.

Just for fun we took the train as well and from the hotel we walked less then 10 minutes to the train station and then got to so many great places to see by just getting on and off of the train .

The hotel has a restaurant - a proper one and not like some Ibis hotels. Food was wonderful. Drinks are a bit expensive in singapore.

We had to fly out of singapore very late in the evening and the hotel let us check out at late and that was very nice because with the hot weather in singapore we needed that extra. I want to mention the guy at front desk Adam , he was always friendly and whenever we asked questions , he helped us.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone if you travelling to singapore. By the way they have free internet in the rooms and in the lobby too.

Was looking for a reasonable business stay option in Singapore the other day. Came across the new Ibis hotel and decided to give it a try. In short very disappointing:

The check in service was robotic. Was asking which are the preferred rooms possibly with a nicer view: The staffs comment was "It's subject to availability" That's all being right in front of the terminal where she assigned the room at the very moment. It ended up to be a room with a full construction view - full on. Which at this stage probably applies to half of the rooms of the hotel.

There were various signs of damage, wear and tear or never really fixed items in the hotel - the elevator key card slot looked like it had been vandalized.

Didn't think it was too much to expect a toothbrush or some extra amenities to be available for business travels or emergencies, but the response was they don't have. At a minimum those should be available for a fee, if you want to cater for emergencies or business travelers.

Housekeeping staff was noisy in the hallway from very early morning, which seriously affected sleep quality.

The room is very small, so is the bathroom. All new, but lots looks rushed and not thought through - odd cabinet arrangements and most likely difficult to use the room with big luggage.

There might be some teething problems here as it is new, but for a rate of S$178++ not breakfast included you can find better places - far better places in Singapore... in far better locations.

Would not use this hotel again.

Stayed at the ibis novena in May 2011 one month after the hotel opened. We got a pretty good rate as an opening special and due to expensive hotel prices we'd seen we decided to give this hotel a go. Being slightly wary due to other not-so-great reviews and the possibility of the hotel still having 'teething problems' we were both pleasantly surprised at the fantastic stay we had here! I agree with others that taxi drivers have no idea about the hotel due to it's just being open so I would recommend you say 'novena' and 'near balestier rd' as this is a main rd on which the hotel corners. I would also recommend the nearest mrt (novena) which is a short walk away (slightly uphill!) and if you prefer a closer option there are buses on balestier rd that head into the city. Now the hotel itself: we arrived at 3am due to delayed flight so had no competition checking in. Staff were very efficient and polite. We requested a quiet room as had read reviews of construction next door (still ongoing as of may 19) and got just this. Were very happy about that! The rooms are small but functional and Beds are comfy. the bathroom is very decent, with enough room to be comfortable and the shower is seperated by a screen door so keeps the floor dry. If you're strategic with you can store suitcases under the beds which frees up all the floor space. There's also a large desk and chair plus a couchy seat by the large window. This was a good idea as it keeps the room bright. Unfortunately there is no fridge in the room, but truthfully after 1 day we got used to it and just purchased long-life milk from the supermarket for our hot drinks and this was fine. We were so happy with the room and cleanliness of the room and hotel. It is brand new so of course all the areas look fantastic and 'shiny'. We never ate in the restaurant as we just booked the lowest basic rate but the buffet Breakfast food looked really good. I enjoyed my stay here thoroughly and thought the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially kindly holding our luggage for 7 hours after we checked out! The location is very good too, close to mrt which is 2 stops from orchard and 4 stops from city hall. Also the mrt is under a pretty good shopping centre (novena square) which has restaurants, supermarket and many specialty stores where we had breakfast and several meals. I liked it as well because it seemed quiet yet not far from the craziness of the city. Would highly recommend if you get a good rate. Some travellers may prefer more luxury, hotel facilities (no pool, gym, etc) and being in the centre of the city but if all you want is a good
clean room in a handy and relatively
quiet location, you can't go past
this one!
