“Really a Cool Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 26, 2013

i stayed at moon hotel for 3 nights. it is at a good location close to bugis and orchard road. there are 2 metro stations very nearby. also very close to the marina bay and singapore flyer by taxi. the room is very small, but somehow i really liked it. the bed was very comfortable. and they do not charge for the minibar which is having daily 2 beers, some juice and water. plus you have 5 cocktails free a day between 5 - 7 pm. they say cocktails, but it does not have to be a cocktail, you can get beer, wine or anything, you name it.

getting to the hotel is easy. i was not in a hurry when i arrived at the airport, so i just took the metro from the airport. and if you need to take a taxi, all drivers know the dickson road.

the staff are young and very helpful. internet is free and we did not experience any signal problem at anywhere inside the hotel. the hotels offers a nice continental breakfast. i enjoyed the breakfast even though it did not have lots to offer. i guess once you like the place, you already like everything they provide. i really liked this hotel, so i did not really look deep to find flaws. i had chats with some other guests and they were happy as well with the hotel.

all in all, i am happy that i stayed there. if i will ever travel back to singapore, it would be my choice again (if i still did not hit the jackpot).

Nice and cozy hotel, one of the very few in Singapore which includes breakfast. Highlight of it is it serves free cocktail and snacks everyday at 5 pm. Nice soft music is played in the hotels. Rooms has good amenities, body scrubber, nail filer, speaker to plug in your own iPod or iPhone. Free cans of juices and beer in your mini bar.
Location wise is very good, outskirts of little india, walking distance to Mustafa, Sim Lim Square and OG mall.

Room Tip: The standard room has no window... But it does has a large curtain on the wall which gives the feeli...

Good location in Little India, with colour and bustle at night, and easy walking to the centre of Singapore and Orchard Road. The room was a standard double, but so compact that there was nowhere to put our suitcases that didn't involve climbing over them to reach the door. The 2 shelves in the wardrobe were 6 feet up, above the hanging space, and therefore totally unuseable. Only 3 hangers were provided, but the very sweet lady from housekeeping did bring some more on request. The bed was a mattress on a platform with an 18 inch step which, together with the suitcases, created a logistical problem in reaching the bathroom safely during the night. The room had no window, except the one to the bathroom, which made going to the loo a voyeuristic experience. The shower and loo were a combined wetroom, so after a shower, we had to paddle to use the loo. No table with chairs was provided, so the only place we could sit and read was on the bed. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the place was spotlessly clean. We paid about £85 per night for bed and a very average continental breakfast, so not expensive by Singapore standards. Would we stay there again? I don't think so.

Stayed at Moon Hotel for 2 nights before our Royal Caribbean Cruise. This hotel is located in Little India, so if you want to see the other side of Singapore, this is a good place to stay. Moon Hotel is an 80 room boutique hotel with trendy minimalist design. It's within walking distance to Malls and MRT station. 7Eleven is located a few meters away and lots of good restaurants around.

The Executive room is quiet romantic, and definitely for couple only, since one can see through the bathroom. It's a small room but clean, cozy and comfortable, they maximize the space well . A platform at the end of my mattress served as my luggage area, . Executive room is 18sq mts, so I guess Standard room is smaller. There's a radio/clock, an Ipod/IPhone speaker, Internet TV, a safety deposit box, Bathrobes, a basket full of toiletries that includes slippers, razors, sewing kits, among others and got strong wifi signal. Guests can check their hotel bills in their room's Internet TV.

A welcome surprise were the well-stocked free mini bar in our room and a refill everyday.( inside the fridge were 2 bottled water, 2 cans of beer, a coke, a sprite, an orange juice and an apple juice.) Free 5 cocktails per room from 5pm to 7pm and free coffee / tea from 6:30am-10 PM served at the Lounge. Buffet Breakfast at the Lounge could be crowded on some days, since it can only sit 30 persons. Lots of choices for breakfast but my favorite were the assorted breadsj and cheeses. All staff speaks good English, they're very helpful and accommodating. Even calling a taxi for us on the way to Int'l Cruise Terminal.

The mattress and pillows are very comfortable, towels and bathrobes are soft and fluffy, the toilet is big and the bathroom fixtures are of good quality with a rain-effect shower head, strong hot water pressure.

I got the room for about S$ 179 on their early bird promo at AsiaTravel. Over all you'll get a value for your money.

Room Tip: Executive and Deluxe rooms are bigger than Standard rooms. Upgrade if you find your room too small.

I have stayed in city-view, lake-view, sea-view and river-view hotels, but first time in a bathroom/latrine-view hotel. I really regret for wasting USD154 for one night. Room are very congested and the bed is placed on platform where we need a ladder to climb on. AC was not giving any effect. Even my 16 month old child had to suffer a lot.

The hotel is situated in little India and within a 5 minute walk of the tube station (though is suppose it depends how fast/slow you walk) and because of this we found it a great base to explore the city. The rooms are small (as to be expected in singapore) but that really wasnt an issue for two of us as you are unlikely to spend much time in there anyway. The rooms were nicely decorated and spotless and the staff were incredibly helpful. The bathrooms were much nicer than most we have experienced in south east asia too! The breakfast was also an added bonus and again much better than we have previously eperienced. We would definitely stay again.

The location is in between Little India MRT & Bugis MRT, both about 10mins walk, so depends on where you want to go before you decide which MRT station you go, since the two stations are on different lines, but it's very convenient.

Breakfast area is very small, all tables are only for 2persons, serving 6:30-10:30am, but recommend to go earlier if you want to enjoy breakfast or you forfeit it, because the staff will clear food display around 10:15am; The poor ventilation system leads to foul-smelling inside the room, especially when someone goes toilet even next door; The toilet/bath room with all windows see through; the tiny rooms are definitely not suitable for families or kids; We luckily that could have a room with windows, however, it didn't make any difference, the windows cannot be opened and keep curtains closed at all time, otherwise, no privacy in the room, the opposit buildings are so close that might see your room.

The complimentary breakfast, free mini-bar and free wifi would make this hotel as a choice of good for value of money, mini-bar is refilled daily, you may enjoy the juice, soft drinks or beer, also including 2 bottles of drinking water, and wifi with constant high-speed.
