I have a spa package with the Oriental Spa that was signed in Jan 2008. The value of the package is in the thousands. Because of the value of the package, I was careful to inquire about expiry date. Upon signing, the spa verbally assured me that even though the print contract states that the package is valid for 1 year, there would be no issues with extending it (effectively meaning that there is no expiry date). This representation is the basis on which I decided to go ahead to purchase the pkg.
On 7 December 2010, I receive a phone call saying that the remaining >$1000 value of my package has fully utilized by 31 Dec 2010. The spa was not willing to make any concessions despite the fact that I have had such short notice and will not be in Singapore for the rest of December.
The spa is forcing me to exchange my package for gift vouchers which have a 3 month expiry date that cannot be extended. When I tried to book treatments within the next 3 months, the spa refused to confirm availability of couple suite despite the date of treatment being over 2 months in advance.
All in all the spa has been extremely inflexible and reneged on verbal representations made to me. And I would strongly discourage anyone from signing packages with the Oriental Spa in Singapore.
