Stayed at Wanderlust while at Singapore for a music festival. We booked here to be near our friends at Bunc hostel right behind it (which was fully booked) and also we preferred to have an ensuite bathroom.

Check in was easy and good even though we arrived past midnight. We got the "Blue" room which gave us a right shock when we opened the door, as it felt like we entered through the Bathroom and then we saw the bed and it was just strange! Blue bathroom like tiles on the walls - then there was two glass enclosures which seemed like the feature of the room, one is the toilet and the other is the shower. The toilet enclosure was RIGHT BESIDE THE BED! My friend and I refused to use it cause it felt so wrong?! The pillow was also weird, a really long pillow for two people to share and my friend had flattened her side while she slept, and all the filling was on my side of the pillow, giving me a good sleep and her a terrible one!

We checked out the jacuzzi and it was kinda sad.

Plus points, NESPRESSO machine in the room was great!! There were also plenty of channels on the telly. The decor in the lobby and dining area was very charming. The breakfast was delicious. I had the pancakes on the last day there and have been dreaming of those pancakes since.

Room Tip: Stay away from the blue room, unless you have a weird fantasy of sleeping in a bathroom! It was sooo...

Hi Elliealmeida,

Many thanks for sharing your feedback of the Wanderlust Hotel.

We do acknowledge that the Pantone Rooms may not be everyone's liking. As the hotel is located within a conservation building, we do try to maximise the space in each room with the Pantone Rooms stylised after capsule rooms.

In each of our rooms at the Wanderlust, we provide 2 pillows and a bolster for guests to use and should you require additional pillows you may feel free to call our Front Desk and we would be pleased to assist.

Nevertheless, we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the in-room amenities as well as breakfast at Cocotte! Perhaps during your next visit to Singapore, you may wish to check-out our sister property - Hotel 1929 located in the historic Chinatown with all rooms equipped with elevated beds and a stone's throw away from many sights and shops.

We hope to be able to welcome you back to the Unlisted Collection group of hotels and we will strive to further improve ourselves to better your impression during your next stay with us!

Warm regards,
Yan Goh

We stayed 3 nights at the Wanderlust during a stopover in Singapore and I really enjoyed the stay.
Pros
- The hotel is has a really cool modern design, we were in the blue pantone room
- Breakfast was lovely! Loved the french toast and fresh pastries
- Coffee pod in rooms... i would have drank them all if I wasn't pregnant at the time =(
- Really friendly and helpful staff. We had to have luggage repaired by the airport and we dropped off luggage to the front desk who organised all of this for us
- Was a competitive price for expensive singapore standards!

Con
- Like others have mentioned the rooms are small, and my issue was the that the small platform leading up to the bed is tiled which is... odd
- the bathroom is like two glass bubbles in the middle of the room (to one side) seperated by the sink. I was with my husband so thats fine, but may be inadequate privacy if with a friend
- the location means it is a 10min walk to most things, but you have to walk through hardware shops and construction sites. So while there are shops around, its not the type you would browse at unless you suddenly wanted to buy fruit/veg or a new rice cooker

Overall, I would stay here again, but only for the right price as i think singapore has a wide range of accommodation that may be better suited

Hi 7leafClover,

Thank you for sharing your feedback about the Wanderlust Hotel.

We do acknowledge that our Pantone Rooms may be slightly more compact and that the beds on the floor may not be very convenient for pregnant ladies. We do try however to maximise the space within the rooms and to offer guests a different experience at the Wanderlust.

Perhaps you would like to consider our other 2 hotels in Singapore during your next visit - Hotel 1929 and New Majestic Hotel which are located in the historic Chinatown neighbourhood.

Whilst in London, do pop-by our sister properties - Town Hall Hotel & Apartments and One Leicester Street!

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Unlisted Collection group of hotels and restaurants and wishing you a safe delivery!

Warm regards,
Yan Goh

I stayed at this hotel two years ago and liked it enough to return despite the many offerings in Singapore. What I liked the first time around did not change -- cool area, interesting design, great service, really good breakfast, and convenient location. But I chose a Pantone room this time around and these are smaller, pod-like rooms.

While the sleep quality was very good, the beds are located basically on the floor of a raised platform in the back of the room and it feels like you are sleeping on the floor. In addition, if you have any mobility issues, it might be hard to get out of the bed. That said, the bedding was VERY comfortable, but it is simply a very small room and really only good for one person. There is literally no place for your luggage except next to the bed, no desk to speak of if you want to sit and do some work, and very limited space to hang any clothes. So as to room size, the Pantone rooms are really small and would not recommend for more than a night or two. And moving to a larger room starts to stretch the price to quality ratio from great to only good.

Also, they used to provide Kiehl toiletries and have switched to another nice brand, but they are not Kiehl's. The shower is excellent and I had a room on the back of the building which was VERY quiet. I arrived a bit early, but they were very accommodating and offered an early check-in. Breakfast is still very good, but probably not as good as I remembered.

So will I stay again, probably but only if the price is write. There are so many things I like about the hotel, but there are a lot of other choices in Singapore.

Spent a night here and had a really good sleep. A warm welcome, a nice, clean, groovy, functional and decent-sized room for the price, a lovely breakfast served in a really cool breakfast area, and a good (not great) Wi-Fi connection. The shower in the room was certainly among the best ones I've had the pleasure to use during all of my travels - lots of room to move around, with strong water pressure (specially from the handheld shower head, not so much from the rain shower) and nice toiletries too. Their internet is "secured" through a web page for which the security certificate is not up to date, and these kinds of things really annoy me. Their tech people should definitely get this fixed. Plus, you get the darn internet authorization page and must re-enter your username and password each time your computer goes into sleep mode. Really annoying!
But the biggest issue I had was with the room itself: I was in a Pantone room and the bed is essentially resting on a small floor. Even worse, you need to climb two little steps to get to the bed and there is hardly any room to stand when you are next to the bed. In other words, if you're not able to sit down on a floor and get up without being helped by someone or something, then this room will not work for you. You need to be young and fit with good balance, otherwise you're out lof luck for this room type. Not sure they explain this clearly on their website.
But, that being said, I have to say that the room has got all the conveniences you could ask for - and their little fruit salad in the morning is probably the best one I've had in a hotel restaurant. I'll definitely copy their recipe, it is that good. And their croissants and pains au chocolat are divine. My room (204) was really quiet and I did not have to use the earplugs they provide next to the bed. Really enjoyed my night at the Wanderlust.

Hi marxusboy,

Many thanks for sharing about your recent stay with us at Wanderlust Hotel!

We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed breakfast at Cocotte and the room amenities provided. Having looked into our internet security, we would like to share that the internet at Wanderlust is indeed secure. The prompt generated by your computer could have arise as the security page is a third party website.

As shared in your feedback, we do acknowledge that our Pantone rooms are rather compact as they are stylised after capsule rooms. Perhaps you would like to try our Mono Rooms during your next visit as they are more spacious, and also has an elevated bed. Alternatively, feel free to check out our flagship hotel - New Majestic Hotel which is not only larger but also has more facilities (swimming pool and a gymnasium).

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Unlisted Collection group of hotels and restaurants and wishing you safe travels!

Nice hipster hotel, we had the space room, design wise very interesting but practically a little frustrating. The loft style bedroom requires you to navigate seriously steep stairs to get to and from the bed, which is particularly annoying if you have to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. Staff were friendly generally, however the calls from the laundry every morning asking if we had laundry were unwelcome and unnecessary, we were only staying for two nights and if we really wanted something laundered we would call and ask! Location in little India is good.

Hi Gus M,

Many thanks for sharing about your recent stay with us.

Located within a conservative shophouse, we try to utilise the high ceilings and maximise the space of the Whimsical Lofts by adopting a loft concept. We acknowledge that the loft rooms may not be ideal for everyone as you mentioned - the stairs might be slightly tedious. Perhaps you would like to try our Mono rooms during your next stay which is relatively spacious with no stairs within the room.

We would like to extend our apologies for inconveniencing you with the laundry calls during your stay. As the laundry is collected every morning, we have a practice of checking with all in-house guests if they would require any laundry services in the event that they might have forgotten the time of collection. For guests who do not wish to be disturbed we would advise to leave the "Do Not Disturb" sign on their door. Nevertheless we have noted on your feedback and would be more mindful for future stays.

Do check out our sister properties - New Majestic Hotel and Hotel 1929 when planning your next stay in Singapore and we hope to welcome you back to the Unlisted Collection group of hotels!

Warm regards,

We stayed 2 nights at the Wanderlust at the end of our SE Asia trip. The hotel is located at the edge of Little India and we did not find the noise at all intrusive in our 3rd floor room, though others have commented on this and the hotel provides earplugs! True the room was a little on the small side but again not really a problem and it was very clean, decorated in a zany style ( loads of backlit flowers in ours) and the bed was extremely comfortable with lovely crisp, clean cotton sheets and duvet. Free soft drinks in the minibar was a nice touch. The inclusive breakfast was well prepared, extensive and served in their French style restaurant. Staff were extremely helpful and we were so grateful to be given access to a shower to clean up before our midnight flight back to UK. This alone merited 5 stars.

So the last question? Value for money? This was the most expensive hotel of our 4 week trip, but taking everything into account, Singapore, service, staff etc I would say it does provide VFM.

Room Tip: I would say the higher the better but don't expect stunning views.
