“Nice loft style room in good location”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

We stayed here for 5 nights during our honeymoon. Hotel is in a quiet street walking distance from Robertson Walk, Clarke Quay etc. They upgraded us to their premier loft with view on the water. The stay was quite enjoyable; staff were kind, room very clean, loved the location (NOT right in the middle of everything, ensuring some peace and quiet).
The breakfast was unfortunately not worth the rate, and wifi didn't always work properly. Also, the roof in the room was quite low, and another pity was the tiny shower 'room'. In a loft of this size we would've expected something larger, as there was more than plenty space to walk around.
But all in all, the overall comfort and location was the most important and I'd actually stay there again for these reasons. Just maybe have a good look at some rooms before settling in if you're very tall ;-)

Had been booked in at this hotel by my company.

This hotel is NOT for anyone needing to do any kind of business.
It might very very "Smart" looking with rooms in two levels but but but ...the rooms are very small, stairway from lower to upper level narrow and steep - shower in one closet, toilet in another where a person of 183 cm in height cannot actually sit, Wash basin is actually the tea-kitchen in the room, bed gives you claustrophobia as the free height is virtually non existent.
There are nowhere to wash your shirts if planning to stay longer, no iron or ironing board, no minibar (Unless you request it specifically).

And to make matters far worse they charge top dollars for this !!!

I would definitely not recommend staying here if you are planning on using it for a business trip.

From a pure personal perspective I wouldn't use this hotel for anything whatsoever and am actually in the process of trying to find another room at the time of writing this.

Room Tip: Yeah - find another hotel

Appreciated all the clever designs and styles, but very stingy - refuses to give a bottle of water, reached our 'quota' of the day'; free wifi but only allows one device to log in. Largely lower than our expectations.

Stayed here for 2 weeks on a business trip. The hotel is well located and is walking distance from riverside walk, a host to many restaurants and bars. The hotel has studio type rooms that are well equipped, though the room size is very small. The base level has a Double bed and TV, along with other basic amenities such as microwave, coffee maker etc. The stairs lead to the upper deck of the room, which has a couch, study table. Its well designed but is very cramped. They serve a buffet breakfast, which was quite nice. The service levels are not great, I faced problems with the Wi fi connection in my room..

This is my second stay at the hotel. The first was at a studio loft and the second a premier loft. The latter is good in allowing me to work downstairs without taking work to bed. But despite staying for 10 nights, I was given a unit that faces the main corridor and lift landing, and the view from the window was an uninspiring view of the back of a serviced apartment or condo next door.

The pluses - the nice modern deco and "feel" was appealing to me, taxis were quick and easy to get hold of at the hotel taxi stand, and the swimming pool, though small, was decent and allowed one to do laps. Wifi was free and available in all rooms, and was fast and reliable. The Straits Times was distributed freely every day but had to be picked up near the lift landing on every floor.

The minuses - room service was patchy! They will gleefully NOT refill essential items if they could get away with it, whether toiletries, stationery, shower caps, coffee and slippers. Called once to complain and the items were promptly replenished during housekeeping that day, but the next day the old pattern continued. Maybe the hotel was on a cost-cutting austerity drive. While I was living there, construction work was going on sporadically, which was annoying as I was trying to work. TV in the premier loft is on the same level as the bed, which means that like it or not you have to sit or lie in bed to watch TV. Toilets are way too small, so if you are horizontally-challenged, it is best not to stay at this hotel. While pubs and eating places are abundant, you have to walk a little further for local fare.

The overall sense that I get is that there needs to be better quality control. While service is generally decent and some staff members try to please, there are several lapses of service. One staff told me curtly to wait when I tried to approach him with a question - he was attending to another guest but I had no idea as the guest was standing at a distance from the counter. He could have simply told me nicely.

Tried a night in Premier Loft and is very mcuh the first and the last.
Checked in by Mr. Frankie was most lousy experience and he really turnned a four stars hotel into a no star hotel. Premier Loft has the queen sized bed and the TV on the upper level and this made going to toilet middle of the night really annoying. Ceiling above the bed has a different heights and is quite dangerous for taller person when stood up. The glass guardrail on the other side of the bed has a warning sign stated “do not lean” but may also caused problem if someone lost his balance. Can only watch the TV on the bed on upper level but the living area is on the lower level. Toilet and shower is seperated into two sides which sized smaller than a closet. The only washing basin is outside the toilet and it looks like the basin in the kitchen, in fact, sitting or living on the lower level was like staying in a kitchen. Free wifi but connection was annoying. Called for in room dining and was shocked when the staff whom answered the call asking whether to pay in cash or charge to room, is this a hostel or hotel??? The person delivered the food into my room not even ask when entered and I have to hold the door for him to walk in and out few times. Lastly, saw a guest collecting his food from a delivery man of a fast food restaurant in the lobby when I was checking out and I have never saw this happened in any other hotels, both local or overseas!!
I can fully understand and accept all the above if the room rate is like around S$100-150 per night, but to pay around S$220-320 per night for this? Well, I think there are much better choice.
