Really friendly, eager-to-please staff. Hotel is clean, cosy, about 10min walking distance to closest MRT (Underground) station Outram Park. Once even walked back to the hotel from Chinatown (approx. 2.5km) which took me about 30 minutes.
My room was quite small, but it didn't matter to me, would still book the hotel again in case I shall return to S'pore in the future.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for taking your valuable time to write true and objective facts about our hotel.
There is another underground subway/ MRT. station to the left of the hotel- Tiong Bahru station, walking time 6-7 minutes. Coming back from China Town, guest could take Bus # 33/ #63/ #85 & more, right to our hotel door step just 20 meters away or taking the MRT. depends where are you located in China Town. As for the room size, for an additional cost, guest could get a larger room of your choice.
On behalf of the Management & Owner & Staff of Hotel Nostalgia, we appreciate your stay with us and looking forward to welcome you & your family & friends on your next visit to Singapore.
Sincerely,
Management

we stayed at the nostalgia hotel from 23rd to 26th november where we received a very warm welcome, the staff were very helpful and kind. the service was good and the chef' did his very best to cater for our dietary needs. the staff on reception were kind enough to check in on line for us, thankyou. the hotel is advertizised as boutique and so the size of the rooms were quite compact but we were out and about exploring singapore , so that was not important. we would love to visit singapore again and would consider a stay at the nostagia again.

The location of this hotel is great, although not in orchard rd, there's a direct bus to orchard road and marina. Tiong bahru market is just around the corner, which makes it really convenient to get local delights. The rooms are very small, as small as japanese hotel rooms! And the beds were a bit soft for my liking. But service was good. I would recommend to people who wont be spending too much time in the hotel.

Thank you for taking your busy schedule to write the feed back to us and regarding the room size, yes our room have 4 different choices to choose from and for a few dollars more, guest can have larger size of room. Regarding the local delight, Hotel Nostalgia is just arround the corner of all well known local delights which is frequented by many locals specially on the weekend.
On behalve of Management and owner, we thank you for your stay with us and looking forward to welcome you in your next visit to Singapore.

We recently stayed at the Nostalgia Hotel and can say that we were very satisfied with our visit. Right from when we arrived the staff were extremely pleasant. The facilities were very clean. The rooms may have been a little on the smaller side but we don't go on holidays to spend all our time in our room. I noticed a previous comment about the bus station being too far away??? We found that the bus stop is almost at the front door of the hotel. We also liked the location as it was handy to all places that we wanted to visit. All in all a pleasant stay and if we are back in Singapore we would most certainly look to stay at the Nostalgia.

The only reason I booked this hotel was waves reviews on TA. Well for the first time I was disappointed.
Pros:
Nice and helpful staff - we talked to the people at reception for not more than 5 min during our stay but yes everyone was very courteous and helpful.
Local hawkers market very near by. cross the road and you will find all kind of food. However this is not a place for a vegetarian.
No sound in the morning - this is the only reason we stayed in this hotel during our entire trip. Our room (#205) faced a back ally and there was hardly a noise in the morning.

Cons:
First of all it is not really a budget hotel (or may be I got a bad deal to pay close to SGD200 per night without breakfast)
Secondly the rooms are SMALL - and this is coming from someone who lives in Hong Kong. Their superior room is ridiculously small - I mean you have to be in that cage to realize how small a room can be.
Third the location is OK - it is 1 KM from the nearest MRT. Taking a bus is really not an option as you end up walking 0.5km to the bus station. So either walk (after full day trip) or hail a cab (even if you are on a budget trip).

In the end we will not return to this hotel. Pay a few more $ and get a more convenient place to crash at night.
