Been to this place for many times. Love their big family suite, balcony with pond and greens.
My kids like the place so much that they will alway request to go back. Swim pool, gym, Outdoor playground, bowling and lots activities to do here!

We spent 5 nights at the Orchid Country Club in February 2012 with our two boys aged 3 1/2 years old and 5 month old. We choose the Orchid Country Club for its location outside the city centre in a green area and were not disappointed.
The room was a bit small for the 4 of us but we did not spend much time in the room anyway so it did not really matter. However the facilities are great! The club is big, with plenty of space, the swimming pools are great, my older son had a ball especially in the resort pool which has a shallow section perfect for toddlers. It was always very quiet and relaxing as most people come in here for golfing. My baby would sleep in his pram by the pool - a maclaren pram can be hired by phone and delivered to the hotel in a few hours! There is also a kids playground. My 3 1/2 year old got a few lessons of golf with other local kids his age and had lots of fun - lovely smiling teachers. Lessons last 1h I think.

The resort is closed to the zoo. It is not far from the city center either which can be reached by taxi or train which is (like everything in Singapore) very modern and well organised. So very easy with the kids.

Overall we found that it was nice to come back to the hotel in the afternoon after visiting the city as it gets quite hot and humid, we would all jump in the swimming for a refreshing swim, get some cocktails and relax!

Nice big room with a queen and single bed. All rooms face golf course but those on lower floors might be blocked by trees. Lots to do -- there's a bowling alley, swimming pool, gym, ntuc supermart, and lots of food places: Chinese restaurant (Peach Garden), Indian restaurant (gayatri), cafe, Subway. Beds comfortable but room aircon can't b adjusted except by technician. Ours was freezing while the one our friends had was warm. Otherwise, we had a good time and will stay again when opportunity arises.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor, away from the lift. Lift area faces pool and view is blocked by trees.

Nice Room that I understand was refurbished not long ago.

There's a super market near the shuttle bus pick up point so it provides a good one-stop solution to get some light snacks / finger food

shuttle bus service is excellent & on-time too!

Stayed here overnight like many reviewers because this place is close to
Relatives who live in the north.
Facilities here are great - large well equipped gym, many pools, gold course, bowling alley and nice dim sum restaurant.

Rooms were large but had a damp musty smell we could not get rid of. We had trouble getting instructions from staff who spoke mandarin. Connecting either through wifi or broadband cable involved a trip to reception - there must be a better way.

We recently stayed at the Orchid Country Club because my husband had business close by. We have been to Singapore many times and have always stayed downtown, which makes for a wonderful trip. Although OCC is pleasant, I would not recommend it unless business requires it or you plan to play golf all day -- it's just too far away from the sites that visitors would want to see.Other than that, it is a pleasant enough location and after as many times as I've stayed downtown, it was interesting to see a quiet, residential part of the island. But there is nothing to walk to. The hotel does offer timely quick shuttle service to the Yishun MRT station and there is a mall across the street from the station. The mall is interesting to see the local perspective, but not much to keep a tourist occupied for long.

To be honest, our opinion of the Club was set at the start -- and not in a very positive way - by the lack of warmth and welcome of the front desk staff. Actually, staff attitude may be an issue throughout the property, not just front desk. When we arrived to check-in, I'd rate the reception staff as competent, but definitely not friendly. They didn't explain a thing about the property, never mentioned what services were available to guests (vs. members), never told us what restaurants were there, what pool we could use or how to get pool towels. Our later interactions with the desk were the same, no one ever raised their head from what they were doing and gave us a smile. The same was true of breakfast servers, shuttle bus driver, market staff - and that is NOT my unusual experience in Singapore.

The rooms are large (including a sofa), with a nice balcony overlooking the golf course, so it is very green and quiet. The bathrooms are good-sized with a large walk-in shower and all in good condition. The only negative is that the hallway is an outdoor one, and has tiles, so if anyone walks by or a cleaning cart is rolled by, you get the rumble or the voices. The hotel was not very busy when we were there, so it wasn't much of a problem.

There is a beautiful pool by the hotel rooms (and an Olympic pool down the way in the club members area) and I even had it all to myself one day. Sadly though, there is no one at the hotel pool to provide a drink or even a bottle of water.

As others have said, there is a good supermarket on the property and while we were there, a new Indian resaurant opened that was very good (in addition to the Chinese restaurant) for dinner one night.

Breakfast is served on an outdoor patio (with fans to make it very comfortable) in the golf club, with a nice view of the course. It was a very pleasant spot to linger and read the paper, although as others have said, the food offerings were very mediocre. The bowls of fresh fruit were mostly empty when I arrived (and not refilled), there was just one kind of juice (very unusual in Asia!!), you'd find one yogurt container, a few meager pastries, cereal boxes with only kid's cereal, and very delicious Asian hot dishes, but no hot western dishes. Admittedly, most of the breakfast eaters were Asian golfers, but it still seemed a little odd. The staff were not very friendly nor did they explain the service, nor did they offer anything to me, perhaps because I was using a breakfast voucher rather than paying for the order?

OCC is certainly okay for special situations (geography or golf), but otherwise, I would recommend being closer to the city and closer to some of Singapore's wonderful food options (and friendlier staff!).
