“Once possibly good, now rather sad.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2012

This could be a lovely little museum but it seems like it has be built & forgotten.

What is most disappointing is that it is very difficult to actually see the exhibits. It appears that the "architects", who won numerous awards for this place, have forgotten to bring in a lighting consultant.

The result is that the toys are so badly lit that it is difficult to actually see them. Come on guys. There are UV filters that you can put on light bulbs these days. Try an exhibition designer.

Further, a lot of the exhibits are placed so high that it is out of the visibility of the target audience...children. So you end up picking your child up every five seconds. Hmmm. It seems like it was designed by an adult to house an adult's toy collection.

The place is now also suffering from lack of maintenance. One floor has mould all over the ceiling & walls, which just makes the place looks a bit sad. Poor toys, I really feel for them.

On the plus side it has a very good stock of brilliant toys.

Is it worth $15 for each adult? Frankly not in the current condition but with a spruce up and better organization of the exhibits, yes.

“A toy enthusiasts haven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 22, 2012 via mobile

Loved this place! Visited in November of 2011 resulting from it striking my interest from my guide book. It wasn't too hard to find but would've been easier if the guide book had mentioned it was right behind Raffles Hotel.
This museum was small but had a lot of awesome toys including traditional Chinese toys from various centuries.
I really enjoyed wandering through as the exhibit rooms were very well maintained.
I would definitely recommend to anyone who has even the smallest bit of inner chil, it took about 1.5 or so hours to have a really good wander through and I finished off my morning with a Sungapore Sling at Raffles afterwards which was quite nice.

“Fun and Amazing but...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2012

This place is a very small place, different to locate for the foreigners. Asking is the best way for the wise man to do. A small place that exhibits a collection of toys from different parts of the world. From vintage to modern. You'll find it there. I was amazed they displayed the value of each toys. Mint Museum of Toys is just a 5 Floor museum. The measurement of each floor is like a studio room. Very narrow and stiff. So in my opinion, they need to expand their area and exhibits.

For toy enthusiasts and collectors, this is place is a must visit!!

“The best thing about Singapore!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

Love this place! If you are a toy loving nostalgia freak you will adore this little treasure. Many, many collections to see, some extremely rare & priceless. Exhibits are changing all the time as the Proprietor has much more tucked away in his private collection. Wish he was my Dad! My favourite place in the whole world. Toy Heaven.
And upstairs is the very agreeable Mr Punch Bar. Terrific!

“Museum Perfect for Nostalgic People and Collectors”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012

Nostalgic people and those young at heart will surely love it. My dad especially loved it. I am just 16, but being a co-collector of small toys and knickknacks with my dad definitely found this inspiring. With around 50 thousand toys, this is just 10% of the owner's collection. The museum holds old and new toys and some which are the only models left in the world. After looking around, one can also buy a small memorabilia or order drinks downstairs in their shop and cafe!

The shop is easy to find. It is just across the street from Bras Basah Complex. A sign has been put up, thus it won't be a problem finding it.
