“disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

Paid for 190 dollar++ per night, so not worth the money. The manager/staff was unprofessional and impatient with the customers, After a prolonged check in, we went up to the 4th floor where our room was and we were instantly greeted by a stained sofa sitting right in front of the elevator and cluster of plastic/paper waste right at the corner. It was an eyesore. from the lobby to the room, hotel was in bad designs, everything was furnished in an unprofessional manner. bedroom wall was dirty. The photos looked so much better than the real deal. Overall not a good experience for me and my boyfriend hates it. The only acceptable thing is a clean bedsheet and shower.

I booked a family room with two queen size bed and stayed for three nights 16,17,18 Aug'12. The room was clean, room size was just nice we had two big luggage and it was not in our way. The price is quite expensive for the size of this room and location. The aircon was quiet and cold. The room was facing the main street but it was not noisy - good sound seal windows. The bed and pillow was comfortable. Bathroom was clean , there is no bathtub in this rooms.
The location was a little out for those who are lazy to walk. As there is nothing directly out of this hotel you need to walk at least 10 min to get to serangoon road ( little India ) or MRT station. Even getting a Cab was difficult directly from the street. Best is get the reception to call a cab from the hotel. The breakfast was average. The staff's was under stress due to the hotel was packed with customers. They are not rude if you approach them with the right angle. The restaurant is understaff especially during breakfast and the tables are not cleaned immediately. In general its a safe hotel to stay with your family. If you decide to stay in this area, walk to Serangoon road start from Mustafa centre and walk down to Tekka market. Along this street you can stop for shopping - clothes, women accessoriess or gold. Make sure you stop at Komala Vilas Indian candy shop and try some Inidan candies, it's the best you can find in Singapore. Have lunch in this area as there are plenty of Indian restaurant here too. Rest and con't walking to Sim Lim plaza - check out the latest electronic gadgets later walk down to Bugis Village - good place for shopping for reasonable priced clothes its the largest street-shopping location in Singapore . Once done take a cab back to the hotel. Then you can con't what ever you plan to do in Singapore._Sooria, Suba, Akkash & Puujha

Room Tip: Book the highest floor for a more quiet night sleep away from the street sound

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It has both positives as well as negatives.

Pros:
Great Location. very close to Little India, Mustafa, MRT, the bus stop and many restaurants as well.
Clean Rooms
Clean bathrooms
Staff was very helpful. our flight arrived at 0800 and we reached the hotel by 10 but there no issues with early check-in. Once we got out room, we wanted a change of room for certain personal reasons and it was done without any problems whatsoever. They asked for a day and we gave them the key in the morning and went to explore Singapore. By the time we got back all our luggage was moved to the new room and our key was ready at the reception. The staff did try their best to make our stay very comfortable.
Breakfast was good. So was the dinner. quite tasty and was served fresh and hot.

Cons:
Rooms were very small. Might feel a little cramped.
Pretty expensive for such a small room but worth it if you're going with people who cannot adjust in a hostel/guesthouse.
No-one to take our luggage up-to the room. Have to do it on your own. But this shouldn't be much of a problem as they have a lift(unless you have a lot of bags that is)

Finally i would like to say that Cultural hotel is a decent place to stay in if you're with your family.

We took two room and stayed in this hotel from 20th July 2012 to 23th July 2012. The hotel is situated in Little India. It has a proximity to Shopping area specially Mustufa Market and Indian Restaurants.

Aprat from this, the hotel is very ordinary for the price, rooms are small, no courtesy is exended to the customers. you have to carry your own luggage from the taxi to the room and from room to the taxi. No help or advise provided. Staff is very rude though one of the staff - Yaya - happened to be Indian, he refused to cooperate. Staff did not give contact no. of the Hotel manager, nor did they allow to meet us the manager. not allowed to used any facilities other than your own room. once we checked out they also refused to talk to us specially Jaya.

They are specially biased against the Indians. Hotel Staff is ruining the name.

Room Tip: No good rooms

i have visited singapore on 24th july 2012. below mention points are very non standard which i found in hotel cultural.
(1) you have to carry your baggage to your room, also have to manage your luggage in the bus at the time of check out, nobody's there to help you out if you are willing to pay ...very rediculous.
(2) they even dont allow to use comman wash room and drink water after one hour of check-out.
(3) they do not provide any type of customized service.
(4)staff is very rude.
(5) for couple they are giving seperate bed....amazing, rooms are toooo small, view is such that you prefer to close the window whole day. no any standard facility in the rooms.
(6) total 250ml x 2 bottle=500ml a day, they give water to customer. extra will cost you extra.
(7)they do partiality to indian customer.

plus point is that it is located near mustafa and naranjan......thats it.

its such a worst experience there.

Cultural is a lovely hotel situated in the heart of little india in Singapore. 10 mins walk from Mustafa Market, this hotel makes a good place to stay in. The food here was also good as luckily we got an Indian Chef who was the in charge of the kitchen. The MRT station is also at a walk of 10 mins from where you have a connection almost to all famous attractions of Singapore. The rooms were decent enough at cultural. the staff is also very humble. Overall we had a pleasant experience at cultural.
