“Very good Location!!”
Reviewed November 9, 2010

Definitely the best location in town for a Hostel. You are literally downtown close to all the sightseeing attractions like The Merlion Statue, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, The Sands Hotel, River Walk, Malls, Chinatown, MTR ( rail system ) and much more.

The staff is very helpful and very attentive. The girl at the counter interrupted her dinner just to show me around which I insisted she dint but she still did.

The place is neatly clean. Restrooms, common areas, lobby and other surroundings are spotless. They pay attention to detail.

I recommend this Hostel to any traveler looking for comfort and budget at the same time combined with the greatest location around.

Stayed for 4 nights for the Grand Prix. Wanted a private room but they were booked up way in advance so went into the dorm - 30 beds. There were a few people coming in late but overall we enjoyed our stay and the service was great - always a friendly smile when you returned from a day out and the free internet was a bonus too!

rucksack inn is what you dream of when entering a hostel. it is like you are coming home. the hotel is the best starting point for a short stay in singapore. next to nightlife area clarke quay and about ten minute walk to city hall. MRT station is 2mins away. the hostel is very clean, nice rooms also the dorm is a good option, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. they have shared bathrooms but they are like private ones. breakfast is included the hole day just make yourself a tea in the afternoon. They also have 3 computers for internet and free wifi. if you search the perfect hostel in singapore, you found it.

I showed up at Rucksack without a reservation, and despite being full, they were able to rearrange some bookings and find a bed for me for 2 nights. The bunk was good and didn't wobble, and despite the dorm being huge, it was reasonably quiet and well ventilated. When there were some girls talking at night, the staff came in and got them to shut up. The location is awesome, being easy to get to from the airport on the MRT, and within walking distance of everything.

The downside was that the common area was really small and always full, and you had to walk past reception and through the kitchen to get to the bathrooms/showers.

Compared to the dozens of hostels I've stayed in in Australia and New Zealand, I didn't really find this place to be anything special or amazing value. It was good overall, no doubt, and I recommend it, but I don't understand the reviews calling it the best hostel ever.

The facilities were just great, the bathroom were clean, the small kitchen was great to socialize with other backpackers, the price was cheap. Felt like home. Very recommended for everybody who's planning to backpack to Singapore. Don't forget taking a picture of yourself in front of the red wall :)

Rucksack in was my last stop on a long trip around oz, and having stayed in over 30 places on this trip rucksack was the number 1 on my list. From start to finish I couldn't fault the hostel for cleanliness, facilities or friendlyness. Their customer service was excellent. Have already booked my bed to return there and I can't wait

This is a neat little hostel, looks a bit dodgy from the outside but once you get up that flight of stairs it's clean, well laid out and great friendly staff. Stayed here with brother, sister and a friend. First two nights in the dorm, I'm a light sleeper so I couldn't sleep that good the first night but the staff noticed and let me sleep on the couch in the tv area. The others couldn't complain. On the third and forth night we moved into a 4 bed room, had no windows very good. There are lockers, a wash room, showers, laundry, toilets, kitchen stocked with toast, spreads and fridge, an entertainment area with good games, magazines, tv and consoles as well as about three computers with free internet. The staff really make you feel welcome here letting you make your mark as part of the RuckSack family by writing a message on their bright red walls. I believe they have been so successful they have opened another location up. Plenty of events are also organised, recommend this place to other budget travellers.
