this is my third time staying at footprints, first time april 2011 with my friends, second time on april 2012 with my family, and third time april 2013 with my friends.i really like staying in footprints, all the staff are very warm and welcoming. i've stayed at both their private and dorm room and the room is clean, bright and comfortable. the staffs are always there to help when you have a problem or when you simply want to talk to someone and do some small talk overall. it's wonderful experience. some of the staff that i know are Francis, Anna, Michelle, Janah they are very friendly and helpful, altough the other staff are new but they are also very warm, helpful and welcoming. the location of footprints also strategic and easy to find. i have been recommending this place to most of our friends due to all staff are very helpful. i wish comeback soon and of course i will stay at footprints again..thank you footprints..love this place so muchhhh..

My girlfriend and I were walking around Little India and stepped into Footprints Hostel. The friendly lady at the reception appealled to us as compared to the other hostels we saw around the area.

We were offered a discount for 3 nights stay and decided to stay on. The rooms were reasonably sized, wifi connection was speedy and the pressure in the shower was strong. The lounge area was bustling with people in the evenings watching newly released movies. The terrace outside was a also a good place to hang out with other travellers over beers. Breakfast was simple with cereal, toast and coffee/tea.

Throughout the 3 days we were staying at Footprints, we were treated with friendly and impeccable service by all the staff. From charging our phones at the reception to asking for directions, we were always greeted with a friendly smile.

On the last day,, the male receptionist allowed us to leave our backpacks at the hostel at no extra cost after we checked out. We have encountered hostels which charged us for luggage storage and this was a pleasant surprise. We were able to explorethe city for a few more hours without the burden of our backpacks. After we came back, we requested if we could take a shower and it was fine with the staff.

We will definitely recommend our friends to stay here if they were to visit Singapore.

I came here for the first time to go abroad. I stayed 3 nights in dorm room. It's always clean and AC is a plus. Breakfast with bread with jam, cereal with milk, tea or coffee.

The staff is friendly and helpful, a little bit far away to MRT station, about 500m, but on the way, you can see the daily life of Indian Singaporean, so peaceful!

This is the third time me and my partner stayed in Footprints and we love footprints so much due to the staff treatment to us especially Anna and Francis. We have been recommending this place to most of our friends due to the both staff helpful behaviour. Francis is still working there and he is still helpful as always, never complain once, forever smiling. GOOD JOB FRANCIS!

Now we noticed that there is changes in the staff. Found out the gem of the place Anna is no longer working there and she is now being replaced by a grumpy-picky-choosy-guy. i am not sure of this new guy name, it should be Demien? Being new, he is very slow in doing his job and we waited for a whole of 20 mins letting him find a room for us! not only that, infront of us, he actually mentioned that the hostel is "FULL" to those who came in to enquire and most of them who asked were indian guest and we noticed when other type of guest who is not indian, he will say that he have beds available. So this makes us wonder, FOOTPRINTS no longer accept indians travellers? we have a number of indian friends to whom we recommended footprints to, but if this is the way footprints does it, i do not sense any equality here. my partner himself is an india and honestly we are shocked with this treatment.
this new guy is horrible, noticed him hanging out at the smoking area and talking to the guest in a rude way. overheard him calling one of the female guest " bi***"? is that even acceptable?
we have never encounter this kind of service from anna and francis. why now? why tarnish footprints reputation?

there is another lady staff, perhaps she is new as well. keep giving us the wrong directions. no problem with her but she need to smile more and serve us with an open heart and mind.

this may sound like a personal attack towards them but being a regular guest, i have to highlight this issue.

other than that, overall the place is still good as it is. new movies in store! made new friends and the wifi now is good.

Hi April,

Thank you for your reply.

We have had some staff movements the last couple of weeks and the new staff are still undergoing training. We apologise if you experienced a lapse in service during your stay with us. Please be assured that we have spoken to the staff concerned and highlighted the points you raised. With continuous training and experience gained, we believe our new personnel will grow to be the kind of gems you are used to.

On another note, I have to emphasize that at Footprints we welcome guests from all over the world and all walks of life. We are located in Little India and naturally embrace the rich and colourful Indian culture all around us. It is unthinkable that we should favor or discriminate against any race.

We value your feedback and are glad you have chosen to stay with us repeatedly. If you are ever back this way again, do pop by our hostel for a chat. We would really appreciate a chance to make up for any disappointment during your last stay.

This was the first hostel i ever stayed at. I loved that we checked in late and the staff were very helpful. I had 3 friends with me and we had a dorm room with 2 bunk beds. There are many different rooms and prices. Singapore being one of the most expensive places to stay, this place is a welcome deal. It is not the ideal place for everyone, but I loved the area. It is in Little India, safe area to walk around, the best food and lots of choice. There is also a mall only a short walk away that has everything you would need and more. The hostel has computers to use free of charge, a fridge with cold drinks and a small cafe attached to it. There is a tv with couches and you can watch dvds its a nice place to chill out. You can walk to many other places including the Markets. The bunk beds are comfortable and the rooms have lockers. The communal showers aren't the best but i didn't expect anything more being a hostel. There is also a laundry which comes in handy being that your often caught in the rain and in need of dry clothes. Singapore is an amazing place to explore and this hostel is a great place for backpackers.

Room Tip: the dorm rooms are rather small and impersonal, if your not keen to share opt for a private room but...

Me and my partner stayed in this hostel in a ten bed mixed dorm for three nights. The hostel is fine. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms and showers were always clean. There was air-con in the room and a plug point, a light and shelf next to your bed. There are also lockers in the rooms to keep your belongings safe. You can either bring your own padlock or buy one from reception. Breakfast is included and was also ok. Two choice of cereals and bread or toast with different jams and spreads, tea and coffee. The wifi was fast and the location of the hostel is great. There is nothing bad to say about this hostel, it's is clean, quiet and basic and fine for people on a budget.
