This place is busy so we decided to eat there. Service was a bit slow but the food was good. The biriyani was delicious. Would go again

Sorry, but the taxi driver dropped us here saying it seemed very popular, he didn’t know why, he didn’t eat there. I now know why, worst curry/ meal I’ve had in over 4 decades of dining.
First of all we were encouraged to order more rice than ever 2 adults and 2 children were ever going to eat (9 & 11).
Tikka Massalla- 4 large cubed pieces of chicken, some thin curry flavoured”soup” in a small bowl, I suppose was to pour over the chicken. Some raita. Peshwari naan and garlic Kulcha naan were flat greasy and very sad looking, more like japattiis. Chicken Korma that the children shared was tasteless, not my words, theirs! I tried it, seemed to have never seen a coconut! My chicken Apolo described as cubes of chicken in a delicious curry sauce, consisted of quite literally, scraps of dried out chicken attached to various bones of the chicken, was awful.
To be fair, they did acknowledge this and subtract it from the hefty final bill, damage done though, very unfortunate ending to what started out great with a much waited for visit to the Long bar at Raffles.
$70 for 2 beers, 2 soft drinks and what described above, local cafe on Havelock rd was infinitely better for 4 meals, Thai curry etc. For $15 !!!
Makes our local takeaway back home look like a Michelin starred Indian, will tell him so next time I’m there. Would not recommend this place at all!

Apart from India of course. The food was abundant, delicious, authentic and satisfying. A highlight was the chicken biryani, steaming with scented spices and filled with buried treasures, juicy chunks of chicken and golden eggs. The naan was light and fresh and the Pappadums crispy. The curries and sauces were varied and tasty, the whole experience enhanced by eating off a fresh banana leaf. Service was efficient and obliging. Once again a go to eating destination in Singapore.
