We picked this hotel on the basis of review and location for our visit to Singapore to attend the F1 grand prix. The hotel is in an excellent location for this being just a 5 minute walk from gate 6 and about a 20 minute walk from gate 10. It is also about a 15 minute walk from Chinatown. The hotel is located in the business district which means it is very quiet at the weekends, the down side being everything nearby is closed at the weekends as well. Saying that you are only a 5 minute walk underground to the MRT station or 10 minutes from the Marina Bay mall and centre so it is not really a problem. Staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, always greeting you with a smile. Their knowledge of the local area is not that great, twice we were sent much further away than was needed to find what we needed. The hotel is very well maintained to a high standard with huge beds, lovely walk in bathrooms with rain showers and bath. Breakfast was very nice and convenient and fairly well priced for a hotel and what was on offer which included a cooked breakfast (eggs or pancakes) and also fruit, muesli, baked goods and other buffet breakfast items all for $20 per head. There are a few restaurants and nearby at the waterfront which look out over Marina Bay to the Marina Bay Sands, a nice place for dinner or a drink. The hotel has an inifinity pool on the roof which was good fun and a real experience to be able to swim to the edge and look out over the city, there is also a jacuzzi and loungers on the top roof (which does not seem to get mentioned anywhere). There is also a small gym and relaxation area. One note of caution we stayed in the smaller studio room which was located right next to the lift shaft. although it did not really bother us you could hear the lift weights going up and down (although they did a good job of soundproofing the room) which may bother some people, the room also does not have a view at all with only small side windows which look out at the neighbouring building. Overall this was a great hotel, I would recommend it for business or couples looking for a quiet and comfortable hotel to attend the grand prix or to just explore everything Singapore has to offer.
