This is our second stay at Riverside Village and again we have been delighted with the service and comforts that Riverside Village offers. We have 2 young children (2.5 and 5 years) and the apartments are a great space for them to chill out after busy day outs. All bedrooms and living area have air-con and in the 3 and 2 bedroom apartments - there is a bath, 2 toilets and 2 showers. Upon our return this year, Livia (the residence manager) went to the trouble of adding some personal touches, with welcome teddies bears for the girls. A wooden cot and high chair (with baby products) were also provided at no extra cost. As we are on the 6th floor (with wonderful views) Livia arranged for the windows in the children's room to be double locked, I also noticed that the dining table had safety ends put on the corners to avoid accidental bumps, the coffee table is also rounded so no sharp corners for little legs to bump into - this extra thoughtfulness and care is something you don't find everywhere. The pool is lovely with a great tots pool as well, and the kids enjoy having a play on the playground. There are toilets and showers on the pool level which is very handy with little ones. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped (including rice cooker and plastic wear - bowl, plate etc was included for our toddler without request). The two apartments we have stayed in have a well equipped laundry, with washing machine, washing powder, drier, clothes drying rack, iron and iron board, and 2 well sized laundry baskets. The concealed balcony off the laundry enables you to dry the clothes quickly in the heat (without needing to use the drier). The staff are always quick to assist and nothing is to much trouble. We would highly recommend Riverside, especially for families, as there is plenty of space if you want to stay in on a rainy day (with a good sized TV and DVD, and good hi speed wi-fi), and outings are very accessible by hailing a taxi (cheap to get around this way, e.g. $6 to get to Maxwells food court- for fantastic local cheap eats, $15 to get to the Zoo about 25 min), or by taking a stroll to Clark Quay Station (about 10-15 minutes stroll). Thanks Livia and staff for your kind hospitality and friendly service.
