Siloso Beach Resort Sentosa
Ranked #12 of 13 Hotels in Sentosa Island
Reviewed November 20, 2012

We stayed at Siloso beach resort for 2d1n on 17Nov-18Nov. Those who loved nature and a rustic atmosphere would appreciate this resort. If you are expecting impeccable service standards and 5 star kinda rooms, this is a wrong hotel for you! This resort is fun for the kids as it had a spring water lagoon pool and a kiddy slides to keep them occupied. The pool was refreshing with the spring water, totalling different from a cholrined pool. The water felt natural and very refreshing indeed! They had a roof garden where you could have a overview of the siloso beach and the resort's waterfall spring water pool! However, the garden is far from being like "garden by the bay"!! Morning breakfast was good for the price we paid, for child we paid $8.90++. The eggs section was very good with nicely done sunny side up eggs, scrambled and omelette! The winner was the bread oven where you could see and smell the baking of croissants! Buttery and mouth watering! I had 2 pipery hot croissants for myself! They had two different types of susauges and the variety is pretty good. The attraction at the breakfast are none other than a lovebird who flew down a small table (which was reserved for them) and the waiter actually brought it some breakfast! The kids were blown away too with the squirrels who came down for "breakfast"!!
We had a deluxe queen room with normal amenities but a bonus was the bathtub! Anyway this resort is just next the siloso beach where all the happenings were! Over the beach, you could enjoy beach sunbathing at Mambo (they had a dip pool for its customers) but if you wanted to get a sunbed from them, you gotta pay $25 per bed, that is excluding the drinks and food you are about to order! Nonetheless, they had sofas for beach bummers FOC, but you need to order their yummy food and cocktails though! Along the road, there is Wavehouse (flowriding with waves) and a gorgoeus billobong shop! AS you walk along, it has got restuarants and pubs to entertain everyone.

This is an awesome resort for the light hearted...if you are picky on everthing, i would encourage you not to chose this hotel!

Room Tip: everone should swim in the spring water pool!

We chose to stay out of the city because we needed a rest before travelling on to Perth. The pool was wonderful and the setting delightful. We were only a few minutes walk from the monorail to go to the city and the hotel supplied passes to get back onto Sentosa free. After sightseeing in the city it was good to come back to a quiet hotel and relax. Breakfast was included and was very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. Meals in the hotel were reasonable and when we just wanted to relax they were just right. We had a memorable beer in Chinatown, cold and refreshing on a warm evening after sightseeing.

A few days away with the kids, 1 and 3 and wanted a place by the beach. Gave this place a chance despite the bad reviews. Should have taken more notice. Do not waste your money on this hotel, it is old and worn out, poorly maintained and shabby. Staff try but are not well trained or managed. Aircon is marginal and had to get fans to get the rooms cool in the evening. Breakfast poor, did not consider an evening meal here. The eco label seems to be a cover for the poor mainitenance. Beds poor, bathrooms not properly cleaned, fittings old and scratched it wood and rusting if metal.

The one saving grace was the Mambo beach bar over the road where there wasa clean polo for teh girls and pleasant staff serving sensibly priced food and drinks, much nicer than teh hotel pool yha just looked grey and uninviting.

I had a roof top suite with ensuite private jaccuzi. It's nice and enjoyable for couples who want some private times. Room size is decent, not too small and overlooking the sea which is calming and serenity except that the vessels are quite a spoiler.
Breakfast is decent with the usual spread of assorted breads, cereals, eggs and tropical fruits. What's standing out is that if you'll get to see squirrels running around the fence which is a beautiful sight, that is if you like animals. For me, i love watching them running and jumping around. But the monkey was quite intimidating for it almost followed us back to our room. It even stood outside our door for quite awhile. Overall it was a nice stay.

We stayed here for 11 nights. It was this resort that made our trip to Singapore so fantastic. It is on sentosa island which is very quiet and peaceful, right across from the beach. We travelled with our 2.5 year old son, so having the space of the beach was ideal for us. The pool was perfect for kids, shallow enough for adults to stand and play with kids and the built in slippery slide provided so much entertainment.

The staff were all lovely and friendly and spoke excellent english. The buffet breakfast was OK, entertaining squirrels and monkeys in the restaurant area.

The room wasnt huge but we had a single bed for our son and the great view of the beach and port gave him something to see. There was enough room to play with his trucks and toys etc.

It is only a very short walk to the monorail and buses/taxis. The food options in this part of the island is limited and more expensive then the foodcourts you find easily in the city. There is however a great pizza place on the beach with a kids playground.

We booked this resort for a long weekend staycation (the only resort hotel in Singapore that still had rooms), and read the reviews on tripadvisor afterwards! We were really worried about what we'd got ourselves into. We'd asked for connecting rooms and we got them assigned to us before the check-in time. And it went very well all the way - the pool is very different from conventional ones with the slides, the natural spring water and the rubber tubes for kids. Access to the beach is just great, and so are the food outlets and attractions such as the Luge within a short walk. The breakfast spread had enough - but certainly not 600 choices if that's what you're used to. The view from the room, overlooking the sea and beach was very calming. The bathroom in the room was just fine. Yes, the lamp shades in the room are rusty, but since the lights worked, the rust didn't really bother us. The quaint garden on the roof was a nice education for the children, with the many herb plants and flowering plants. So, overall it was great choice for a family getaway.
