We finally got round to going to Universal Studios Singapore so decided to make it a staycation at the Movenpick Hotel on Sentosa.
Unlike other reviewers, I found the service throughout (reception, housekeeping, restaurant) to be friendly and helpful. Though small, the rooms were contemporarily designed in beige and earth-tones which was restful and to my taste. The hotel was generally clean and neat but there were small details that need attention - for example the light fixture at the reception was noticeably dusty and the water-mark stains on the full window in our room rather marred the excellent trees and sea view. Our room (624) also had 2 water-stains on the ceiling board (probably from a leaky roof) directly above our bed. A little disconcerting to be sleeping under the stained ceiling but because we were only staying the one night, we didn't bother trying to switch rooms.
The breakfast buffet was good. I particularly enjoyed the egg station (the chef cooked with care and a smile), the smoked salmon as well as soya milk. Again it was service with smiles which was appreciated.
I like the colonial feel of the place and it was certainly more serene than RWS across the road and I would certainly recommend it.More
