“Good place, bad experience with the waiter”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

It was our second time here at Port of Lost Wonder (POLW), which is conveniently situated next to the Beach Car Park. We were here two years back when it just opened, we like it very much and decided to bring our friends and their kid here.

This is a huge pirate ship themed water-play area with slides and water-tunnels! There is also a less challenging water-play area for babies and young toddlers. It’s like the perfect water playground for babies and kids (below 10 years old); those older might not like seeing so many young children around.

While the babies and younger toddlers might still needs their parents to be around, my 4 and 6 years old can play independently on my their and even made some friends while playing. The facilities are very safe with staff are watching and assisting the children most of the time.

Those who aren't too keen to be in the water-play area, can kick some balls in the sand pit and join the activities hold by the staff, like bubble party and some planting.

During lunch time, you could bring a huge feast in for picnic because outside food and drinks are allowed. Alternatively, there is a restaurant which has menu for pasta, calamari, salad, chicken wings and lots more.

The food was ok, but one of the waiter of the restaurant couldn’t mess up our mood any further. He spilled our drinks and wet my husband phone and camera. When we asked for a table cloth to clean up the mess, he turned and walked very slowly towards the restaurant with absolutely no sense of urgency. He only apologized, rather insincerely when we displayed our displeasure vocally. Our happy moment was almost ruined by this bad experience.

“Basic water fun”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

I am very impressed that POLW will close every now and then to give the whole place a good scrub and clean. Do be sure to check out their website for their cleaning dates to avoid.

My child had a lot of fun playing with the slides and water. A lifeguard is constantly on the water playground there to keep a look out. Double thumbs up for security.

I had fun sitting there, sipping my ice lemon tea while my spouse busied with our preschooler. :)

“Great for Younger Kids”
Reviewed February 16, 2014

POLW is like a kid's club by the beach (though the beach is not accessible from there). It is quite a small place but if you have small kids then small is great so that it is easy to supervise the kids.

This place is great with younger kids. I brought my 4 yr old and a 1 yo toddler so both had a great time with the shallow water. But it might be a bit boring for kids above 6yo.
I like that it is picnic-style, so you can bring your own food in it, and have a picnic there while watching over the kids. They also sell food if you need to buy any.

Besides the Bubble Party which they have it like every 1/2 hr, there isn't much choices for the kids to use up their Curio coins.
So other than the main attraction of the huge Pirate Ship, and the Bubble Party, there isn't much to do there.

So like I said, good for younger kids, but boring for older ones.
Great for parents though to just chill nearby and overwatch the kids.

“Not as good as it looks”
Reviewed January 30, 2014

Apart from the pirate ship, there is not a lot else to entertain the kids. We were there for 1.5 hrs and after that the kids were bored. The passports were a waste of time.
