We brought our family to the Butterfly Park today but it was closed due to the heavy rain. We were told we could still visit the Insect Kingdom but it was such an appalling place! The live insects were housed in pathetic glass jars. We saw several stick insects, praying mantis, rhinocerous beetles and a couple of tarantulas. Hardly worthy to be called "INSECT KINGDOM"!
The entire place was run down and pathetic. Even the air-con was not working! Many of the displays were poorly maintained and we were done in just 10 min. My advice to visitors: Pls avoid this attraction. It is not worth S$16. There is no compensation if the Butterfly Park is closed due to the bad weather, The staff were not apologetic or even trained to take feedback. Time to revamp this place and bring it on par with the other attractions in Sentosa.

We went late on a rainy day and the kids (7, 9, 11 yrs old) enjoyed seeing the butterflies flying around, the toucans and some turtles but it wasn't really worth paying to see. The live stick insects were interesting and the insect museum had some interesting bugs but, overall a bit disappointing. There are other things on Sentosa that you can spend your time doing, so unless it is part of your package and you have time, I wouldn't bother.

The place was shabby and looked dead. Needs major refurbishment.
Not many butterflies flying around/at feeding stations.
The major shock for me was when an attendant sprayed insecticide to a nearby tree and some butterfly got sprayed. He said it was to kill the ants, however wouldn't it kill the butterfly too?
The highlight was when a mating butterfly landed on a nearby branch.
Food was terrible. Better find food somewhere else or bring your own lunch

Agree with recent reviewers. I didn't see more than 6 varieties of butterfly. It needed more feeding stations. I saw only one and a parrot kept landing on it disturbing the feeders. The insect display was awful, like something out of a Victorian museum. The whole exhibit needs major refurbishment. The inevitable gift shop was disproportionately large.

Its terrible. Only a few butterflies alive in the first outdoor enclosure. Then you pass to a second outdoor enclosure where there is no life whatsoever apart from some guys offering to take pictures with some cockatoos.
Now when it comes to insects they have a lot of them: dead ones. The exhibit is very poor and they display a few glass tanks simulating they are alive, embarrassing... We felt robbed...btw, the ticket cost 16SG$!!!!! Waste of money
Now if you are into dead butterflies they do have a good collection on display...but that is not what we were looking for.
ADVICE: if you can go to the one in KL. Its worth there.
