The bedrooms are tired, need freshened up. The bathroom needs complete overhaul. The hotel restaurant was excellent. We also booked ourselves a massage within the SPA facilities and these were excellent.

We stayed at the Rasa Sentosa for two nights on the way home from Australia, and, having stayed there six years ago, we found it as delightful as ever. We were in a Panoramic room on the tenth floor, and the room was very comfortable and although slightly dated, this added to the charm. Needless to say, the view of the Hotel grounds, beach and countless ships in the bay, was as magnificent as ever.
It was our anniversary, and we had dinner at Barnacles restaurant at the beach. It was a great venue. The service was first class, the food was classy, and it was a very romantic evening. Even the table singers who looked like left overs from Woodstock, were actually a really good act.

We expected a better standard for a 5 star hotel especially being a Shangri La. The hotel itself is in a good location and the layout is quite good but the rooms let it down. They are quite shabby and in dire need of renovation. The carpets had stains all over them and the room smelt of stale smoke. The tv's are archaic and the furniture is worn and scratched. I think that for the prices they are charging they could afford to renovate. Also, I had a cocktail at the pool bar during 'Happy Hour 'and couldn't even taste the alcohol .Yet they were charging S$14 for it .

Stayed 4 nights in this hotel , after 7 nights in Swissotel Merchant Court in Singapore. We booked a deluxe seaview room. We stayed in room 611 which had a good sea view , but the moment we entered the room, there was a very musty and stale smell. We got the impression it had been closed up for a while.........The rooms look very old, only the rooms from the 10 and 11 floor are renovated and got new furniture.

We stayed in this room only for 1 night because of the musty air, we open the balcony door and the mirrors from the room got steamed . In the morning when we got up i had water on my iphone because the ceiling was full of water drops.......
Asked to have a room change which was done without arguement and the second room 919 was far better......... The manager of the hotel send us a fruit basket to apologize for the inconvenient created.

But hotel location is ideal, It is on Siloso Beach, it is near the fun Sentosa activities, like the luge ride and aquarium, and it is easy to hop on a bus or tram to access the rest of the island or Vivo City.
The pool looks grate and another nice plus was free internet access.

If they will change the old look of the hotel in a new one i will maybe stay there again.

Situated on Sentosa Island just a short distance from Singapore City (10-15 min.taxi ride) shuttle service available plus choice of MRT & bus. You can even get a sky lift.
Has a maan made beach (albeit not the best within S.E.Asia but good for Singapore) with its many ships) Has good amenites, hairdresser, little shop and a great kiddies club.(My grandchildren didn't want to leave as they loved the carers). Swimming pool is massive and you can have your feet & legs massaged at the poolside (great after a long flight). Rooms are very comfortable - I have stayed in hillside view, sea view & garden view. My faviourite is garden view as you can walk straight out to pool without using lifts. Breakfast is a good buffet suiting everyone.

When we reached the hotel at 4 pm, the front desk was crowded with people. The lady who attended to us told us that our room wasn't ready! The check in time starts at 3 pm. She then gives us another room on the 7th floor instead of the room on the 8th floor so as not to keep us waiting,. I checked with her if the view is as equally good since we booked a deluxe sea view room. She assured us it was. We went to the room and to our dismay, there was a common deck which could be accessed via a small gate by anyone! Furthermore, our view of the pool was blocked. I called the front desk to reflect our disappointment to them and told them that we'll wait for the room that wasn't ready. It was then they told us the room had been promised to another guest! We were shocked! First it wasn't ready, then it was promised to another guest! After much persistence, the room operator told us that we can have the room on the 8th floor but we have to wait til housekeeping gets it cleaned up. By the time we got into the room, it was already 5.40 pm. If they had allocated the room to us, they should have gotten it cleaned up before the checked in time at 3 pm. I find them very disorganised... It's very unpleasant to start off a staycation in such a manner..
