We really enjoyed our stay at Shangri-la Rasa Sentosa for my wedding night as it was a surprise by hubby. The room was perfect with all the details taken care off and the panoramic view of the South China Sea and is ideal for a romantic getaway.. The staff were pleasant and helpful. It was our wedding night and the hotel surprised us with a delicious cake which was a thoughtful gesture. We enjoyed our stay and were happy by everything.
Overall it was a pleasant and memorable one and we will return soon...

Room Tip: get a panorama room for a great seaview..

I didn't want to travel anywhere but 4 days off so we booked 3 nights at the Shangrila Sentosa. It was a great idea because we didn't have to fly anywhere and yet the environment made us feel like we were NOT in Singapore. This hotel offers a great all-around experience, and though not perfect, I recommend it specifically for these aspects: (1) service in general, (2) quality of food, (3) friendliness of staff, (4) comfort of beddings, (5) location on Sentosa. It was so easy to take a beach tram to go down to various activities on the beach or on Sentosa island. On the other hand, I did have some issues with (1) the room furniture being a little "worn," (2) the kiddie club not being flexible enough because all children had to follow the day's agenda and there was no "free play" offered in the under-utilized clubroom, (3) long line to get into the breakfast buffet, (4) high price of rooms. I have stayed at more luxurious hotels/resorts in other Asian countries for the same price. Overall, however, I would return for the reasons I stated above, and if I have enough saved in the bank.

I can agree with much that has already been written, really good room with plenty of space and features, very helpful staff. Checkout was a drawn out procedure with a long line & waiting, but in a busy time the staff did all they could to speed things up.
We were there for 2 nights, and would have preferred less emphasis on buffet food (it did look good though) - we ordered a la carte and were disappointed with one dish, but that can happen. Breakfast was fantastic apart from lining up for a table, but again, that's the nature of the place, a big kid's club, great for families. This was true at the pool too, huge pool but very shallow and busy with lots of kids. A separate adults only pool would be good, but really that's not the market they are aiming at & you need to keep that in mind. Guess we'll be back if we get grandkids !

Room Tip: Overlook the sea - a very nice view.

My baby, husband and I stayed in the hillveiw room. We had a very wonderful stay in the resort. The bed is big and comfortable for family. My baby enjoyed the kids club and pool activities. We had lots of fun in the private beach and staff are so friendly and good service at all. Breadfast is the top class and the best in Singapore ever I experienced.

After reading many reviews saying what a wonderful family hotel the Shangri-La's Rasa Sentosa Resort was, I was excited to see what it could deliver for a couples getaway. In a nutshell it delivered in ever way possible! The worry of hundreds of screaming kids let loose running about the place was not to be. Do not let the heavily "family friendliness" put you off if its a couples holiday you are after.

On arrival we were very warmly welcomed by the concierge and reception staff. The beautiful outdoor reception area was the first thing that made me realise how well presented this hotel was. Every single member of staff could not have been more genuinely friendly and helpful. After our quick check-in we were shown to the elevators and walked to our room along the eighth floor. We stayed in a Deluxe Sea View room which offered excellent comfort, all the amenities one would require; plus the most stunning view of the South China Sea and the south shore of Sentosa island. The bed was massive and very comfy with ample pillows. The room has a choice of air conditioning or if you prefer a ceiling mounted fan. The bathroom was of a good size with a nice shower cubical including seat and drying rail. A nice touch was that that bathroom had its own thermostat, so you could keep the bathroom suitably warmer than the bedroom when taking a shower. The biggest disappointment with the bathroom was the lack of a bath. However this was not a big issue for us. The room did seem to have too many light switches all over the place and was lacking a master switch to turn all on or off. This really did confuse me at bed time and would spend the best part of a minute ever night trying to find the light switches for all of the damn lights! Someone maybe went a little OTT with the rooms lighting setup.

The room balcony was of a good size and sported two comfortable seats and a small drinks table. On our first evening we ordered from the very extensive in-room dining menu. This service offered a menu choice that was from almost all of their on-site restaurants. The price was about what you would expect from room service. The food arrived a little later than expected but was absolutely delicious (also the portions were massive)! While sat on the balcony enjoying our food we sampled a view of the dancing water, fire, lights and fireworks show in the near distance (Songs of the Sea). The balcony wasn't particularly well lit at night but provided just about enough light to eat out. The room offered a few electricity sockets (Usual UK three pin) but unfortunately only one that was just about in reach of the bedside (at a a stretch).

The hotel offered seven different eateries (including the in-room dining option) of which we managed to sample four during our ten day stay. All food was very nice and not particularly overpriced for a hotel at all. One of our favourite places to eat was the hotels fun beach-side openair pizzeria 'Trapizza', just a short five min walk down Siloso beach. Although it isn't technically in the hotel grounds you can still charge meals to your room bill. We would recommend any of the hotel eateries as we found they offered good food at a fair price (also the convenience of not having to travel elsewhere on the island or into the city).

Overall the hotel is perfectly situated so that its easy enough to access local attractions but out of the way enough to feel private and secluded. The beach areas were stunning and offered a clean safe environment for everyone. The pool area was large with lots of loungers and a good poolside bar. Bus stops that allow free access to the whole island of Sentosa were situated right outside the hotel (next to Underwater World). Regular beach trams (free to ride) were just a short 5min walk away from the hotel reception. A free shuttle bus from reception can take you to the mainland (Vivo City) in less than 10mins. Taxis were easy to pick up at the hotel entrance by reception. All guests also receive free access to Sentosa for the duration of your stay. Upon checking in we were presented with a Sentosa Island pass. This pass had to be exchanged ever three days at reception (I dont know why, but we couldn't keep using the same one for some silly reason?) which was a bit of a pain. However the pass allowed you unlimited access to and from the island via road (in taxis or private car), Sentosa Express (monoral), Bus or walking via the Sentosa Boardwalk.

I would definitely go out of my way to recommend this hotel as it offered everything we needed and wanted, all topped off with excellent friendly service. We have now joined the hotels Golden Circle rewards programme in the hope of returning again soon on the non too distant future.

On our final day we checked out with ease and used the hotels nice 'Refresh Room' to take a last min shower before departing.

An amazing experience that made our amazing holiday even more special!

We enjoyed our stay here for the usual reasons you would expect at a shangrila. The kids loved the water slides (although they could have used more water to be a bit faster as the kids tended to get stuck unless going on their knees. But slides were great even for our two year old so that was nice). Hotel is great location for exploring all the attractions on Sentosa. But a huge disappointment was the playroom. The rule was that only age five and older were allowed in the playroom and to participate in all activities. No adults allowed. So my two and almost five year old could not participate at all or even go inside. They were told they could use the toddler playroom that was just a tiny room with nothing in it. Considering the hotel was just renovated and most families there had children under five this seems a colossally bad design decision. On rainy days there was nothing for kids under five to do. It was a black mark on our stay and would make us reconsider staying here in the future since if no playroom then why not stay somewhere cheaper that has a good pool too? But the service was good and food OK and the kids loved the trapeze on the beach.

We'd booked the Shangri-la at Sentosa after our planned trip to Bali was cancelled due to flights. Initially we'd booked to stay 4 nights but moved back into the city after only 1 night there. We generally choose Shangri-la hotels for our breaks due to the exceptional level of service. Unfortunately this hotel falls well short of our expectations. On arrival it was clear the hotel was busy, I had to lift my suitcases from the taxi and take into reception so not a good start. At check in we were not advised how busy the hotel was or that it was advisable to book a table at the restaurants if we wanted to eat.

After a couple of hours at the pool we got ready for dinner and went to to the restaurants on level 3. As it had been raining many areas were not available for seating however the place was completely overwhelmed and could not cope. There were queues of people and when we were eventually addressed we couldnt get a table. On trying the other restaurants the case was the same. We eventually gave up after an hour and went back to the room for room service. When we ordered we were told it would take over an hour and when it finally arrived our 5 year old had fallen asleep so did not get fed in the evening.

To add to this we tried to order wine in the lounge area off the reception only to have 2 staff not understand our request (could not speak English), we went down again to the bar but they had no seating due to the rain! Then ordered a bottle of white wine with the room service and again when it was delivered there was no ice bucket. When asking the waiter to get an ice bucket again he did not understand.

Next morning for breakfast was a similar shambles with queues at the restaurant and a chef actually walking the queue offering bread while we waited! Eventually went to the beachside restaurant for breakfast and was seated outside. Breakfast was fine until our 5 year old looked over the wall we were sitting at to find a dead rat caught in a trap. The least they could have done was check and remove the animal before they started serving food!

At $800+ a night for the room we booked we expected something a bit better!, Needless to say this was enough and we checked out that day, moving to the Shangri-la in the city. Whilst not a beach holiday as we'd intended it was a far more enjoyable experience than that of the hotel on Sentosa.
