Our travel agent arranged the accomodation here. The check in was fast and the room was superb. Food was good and the kids loved it. The location is a walking distance to USS and other public attraction in sentosa. Will certainly came again soon..

Stayed here one night as it was the cheapest 5 star on Agoda, somehow Singapore hotel prices have gone through the roof since the opening of the casino's. The government building numerous 5 star hotels around one casino, has not succeeded in bringing any charm to the place, it all just seems like a disney land gone wrong. Hotel rooms not well cleaned this seems to be the trend on the island. Empty minibars, old towels, not sufficient towels and bathroom amenities were what you see in 3 star motels in Europe, for the price these rooms make and the casino you would expect some more opulence and class. One positive note though the beds were fantastic

Room Tip: Ask for corner rooms they are more spacious and have a larger balcony

I decided on a staycation instead of travelling to a nearby country for the march school hols. But I think I really made a bad choice!

Firstly, the hotel was confusing, there was no many signs saying where to go ( because there are 4-5 hotels in that area!), parking was confusing ( and the road attendants rude! they shouted at me and almost came after me because I cross a zebra crossing without following their instructions, when there were no attendants where I crossed! The last I check, traffic stops for people at zebra crossing and road attendants do not shout and point their fingers at hotel guests!)

the hotel was lousy for the following reasons

1) all the staff I met ( except for the first receptionist who checked me in) seem to be more interested in looking cool and professional, not warm and friendly as expected of a family hotel. They tend to look away when you approach them, look down at their computer when you walk towards the counter, than to smile at you. Even the staff in the lift tend to look away, not help press the open lift button for the kids, they tend rush out when the door opens immediately. No one seems to say please or thank you too.

2) no hand or face towels in the rooms? did I not pay enough?

3) swimming pool was lousy ( compared to Hard Rock Hotel pool)

4) stains in couch were so obvious

5) furniture had lots of sharp corners, considering this is meant to be a family hotel. They looked dated too

overall, i would not stay in the hotel again. I feel that I paid Singapore dollars to stay in a Genting standard hotel .

Overall I think Festive hotel is good for staying once if you get a good deal (the package including the universal studio pass etc) but not for visiting again. Stayed in Rasa Sentosa (Under Shangri-la) and it was so much better!

Pros:
The location, good variety of restaurants and eateries at Festive walk. Close to Universal studio, therefore perfect after a visit to USS, especially with tired kids

The shower head in the bathroom..awesome!

TWG tea bags:)

Cons:
The beds were too soft. Bunk bed too high and dangerous for the kids. Sofa bed not comfortable at all. We did not sleep well for the two nights.

Amenities not filled(one box with the cotton buds empty, and was empty for the whole 3 days 2 nights even after other things were refilled.) hand soap pump not working.

Saw some stains in the toilet too, as commented by one reviewer.

The breakfast buffet was not value for money. Seriously understaffed, we had to find highchairs and utensils for our kids ourselves. Food taste ok but not much variety. Dishes etc not cleared, our whole pile of dirty plates only cleared when we are almost finished. I pity the two waiters who are so busy and can't clean fast enough at the outdoor sitting area.

Someone from Fiesta should go check put how Rasa Sentosa's silver shell cafe does their breakfast buffet. Seriously!

Verdict:
Will stay in other hotels from now on and only visit USS

I'd give this hotel 3 and a half stars, as it's good, but not very good.

We moved over from Hotel Michael, which is part of the same complex, and is supposed to be more upmarket, as it was full over the weekend. But I found this hotel to be better for a longer stay as it feels "warmer". The Michael is better for business travelers - though wifi and TV channel options are exactly the same.

The room is a nice size, overlooked the swimming pool, where the noise was mostly manageable. It's generally comfortable, with a bunk bed for families with children. The bathroom was OK, towels were good quality, and overall this is a very reasonable place to stay if you want comfort at a reasonable price.

Transport is fine but you have to pay every time you come over to Sentosa, unless you walk and use the Sentosa card. There's a free shuttle to Vivocity shopping mall in the basement where the car park is (but it's not free back to the Island).

Some downsides to reckon with:

The hotel get very full over weekends, with large groups, while weekdays it's pretty quiet, so it will be hard to get hold of staff on the phone, or expect quick results at the reception, even for check in, unless you avoid Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. This means if you've just arrived from the airport, laden with bags and sweating profusely, you won't have a good first impression. I had a problem with the remote control and it took two calls to recep to get it sorted out.

Wifi pricing is a downside, and there is no free option throughout the whole resort. You'd have to walk or take the bus across the bridge to Vivocity to get that. so if you want cheap or free connectivity don't stay here.

Cleaning staff are mainly Chinese nationals, who can be very noisy and don't understand what you need. There is a labour shortage in Singapore, especially in hotels, so this is a problem everywhere, but quite noticeable at this hotel.

Some pointers:

Ask for the Sentosa card. This entitles you to free entry to Sentosa Island for three days. Avoids the toll charge when you come in by taxi, or if you walk across from Vivocity.

Book a cheaper option without food as the hotel is expensive. Eat local breakfast at Toast Box by the Casino entrance. Din Tai Fung is excellent Chinese food at reasonable prices - specialty are their famous Shanghai pork dumplings. The other eateries are all generally OK, and currently there is a very good Malaysian Food Fair, which is worth checking out. Over at Vivocity there are tons of all-priced places to eat, including Burger King.

For clubbing go to St James Power Station opposite Vivocity - it's a short 15-20 min walk from the resort.

If you don't mind spending some time gambling, go to the Membership counters outside the Casino and register for a membership card. If you gamble long enough you can actually get at least one free night's accommodation by just making sure you put in your members card before playing the machines or tables. But it will take a good stretch of hours to do it (we did it and got three night's free! Got to have a bit of luck though).

Room Tip: Ask for rooms with a shower. Rooms facing the swimming pool have got decent balconies for chilling...

Very good stay.

Good staffs.

Good locations.

Considerate room lay out.

Could stay here even planning to visit singapore island. seriously not far and singapore has good public transport.

Room furniture and build up quality is three stars.

It is not that refined glam type, it is more warm and happy type.

Quite match with the festive theme.

Things that you need are with it. including bath tub.

Things I like.

1. It has one king size bed, one bunker bed on top (for kids) and one sofa bed. Every room come with same layout if not mistaken.

So if it is a family with more then one kids, this is a good place.

2. The pool is adequate. And it share the pool with Hard rock. Hard rock has a nice pool.

3. Buffet breakfast is average. could consider the restaurant nearby or inside casinos. Many choices.

Room Tip: Room are mostly same. The only difference is their distance with the lift. Get a casino member ca...

Arrived at the hotel and the first thing i noticed was the big queues of people checking in, yet not all of the counters had staff available to assist.

The room was perfectly fine, with a good view of the swimming pool.

Immediately noticed that for daily wifi it was in the region of £16 per day which was a little on the high side, but the connection quality was good.

The pool was very nice and had plenty of beds to dry off after a swim, though the recommendation by staff was to use the pool at the Hard Rock hotel, nearly next door. Residents at Festive Hotel could use that pool for free and it was a better pool!

I only ate occassionally here, as after the evening dinner at close to £30 for the "buffet" I was not keen to experience their prices. This buffet was cold though it was supposed to have been barbequed, and the selection very poor.

Breakfast was really busy and trying to find a table for one was difficult as there were a lot of families there with kids running around. May be good for families, but not really a place for business travellers.
