“Carbon, the Divisoria of the South”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Carbon is Cebu's Divisoria. Take the 6B jeep from Capitol to Carbon. This is where vegetables and fruits are brought for reselling. It's huge, wet market included. It's cheap too since price is lower when you get it elsewhere. We enjoyed walking down the street, luring at what to buy. It was raining though that's why the street was muddy. We were able to buy some chicharon from Carcar, Cebu's pride. There are also dried fish of all kinds. This is indeed very Divisoria. Muddy, stinky and crowded place.

“everything in there is cheap”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

I been working there for two years before in 2006 to 2008 in a Pawnshop as an Appraiser and for me Carbon Market has so many variety of things to offer, from fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fresh fish,candles/scented candles, house ware, birthday party stuffs, rtw(ready-to-wear), used clothing(ukay ukay) local food, street foods etc.
Even up to these days, though i no longer work there I still love to visit the place riding my mt. bike buying fresh fruits, fish and vegetables and etc.

One of the oldest food haus there is the Cebu Lumpia House in Manalili St. It is a Chinese Restaurant owned by the rich and famous in Cebu City. You also come and try Ong King King Snack Haus with lomi, pancit, roasted chicken, bread, freshly baked donut (are there especially during snack hours.)

Yes. its true its unsafe to visit there if you flaunt your valuables with you. I think this is common in Public areas even in the other countries in Asia. Just bring enough money to spend for shopping and don't wear jewelries.Leave Your valuables in your hotel and put it in the Safe Box. Bring not so expensive cameras with you. If you Bring DSLR cameras for Photo Shooting try look for Barangay Tanod(Barangay Public Safety Officer) in Ermita and ask the Barangay Captain there for assistance. You may just give "tip" to the Tanods after the tour.
But If you go there by group there's no problem at all.Just ask assistance if you are visiting alone in the place.

So hope it helps you somehow!

Welcome to Carbon Cebu Philippines!

Enjoy and Have Fun!

“Coconut Wine”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

I like to go to Carbon Market where they sell coconut wine. It's near a small police station. You can get a glass of bahalina (coconut wine) for just 10 pesos. You can also get food here cheaply, too.

It's also interesting to go to the fish section of Carbon Market and see all the fish (and eels) that are caught.

“Must see in Cebu”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

This is where the locals go to get there fruit, meat, veggies - it is crazy busy - the locals seem to go anytime, but more people are there during night so I would go during the day. There are so many stores and market booths everywhere so take a day to peruse everywhere - I still wont take my kids with me but enjoy going to find a good deal.
