Since there were no listing on the internet for pensions in Toledo City, I stopped at the first one I saw as i rode into town--the Toledo Pension House. I had to go to the side, climb a poorly maintained staircase, then wake the desk clerk who was sleeping on the couch. She showed me to the room, a large room that looked quite nice, although with very dated furnishings, but the price was only 1,000pesos, so I didn't expect much---which was EXACTLY what I received!
I tried to take a shower--no water---it seems that they turn off the pump multiple times each day. After much noise and a demand for my money back, they finally got the water on--about 30 minutes. This happened THREE TIMES in less than 14hours--afternoon, evening, and morning. Do not waste your time with this place go immediitly to Shem's Pension down the street past Gaisano Mall for new, clean and FUNCTIONAL accommodations.
The ONLY thing good about the Toledo Pension House is the seafood restaurant downstairs--obviously under different management!
