“Pitiful Management”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

My wife and I stayed at the hotel for three days and two nights. Several months before that, when we did the reservation for the rooms, we made a mistake on the check-in dates. Minutes later, we found out about the error and we called the hotel so they can rectify what happened. To make a long story short, it took them a couple of weeks to take care of the problem and we ended up paying a couple of hundred dollars more for a simple mistake. The management practically ignored our emails when we tried to contact them, begging them to help us. The only good thing I can say about the hotel is the great customer service at the front desk. Other than that, there were a lot of ants in the bathroom and the food was mediocre. I will not recommend this hotel to other people.

I loved the service of the Hotel. The Staff from front office to the security to beach help to bar service were great, helpful and attentive. The location of the hotel is in the middle of the strip, so convenient to visit D'Mall and restaurants.

Room service was quick and efficient. The posteurpedic bed was relaxing. Rooms were clean

The restaurant Don Vitto had the best food we had on the Island. I liked the thin crust pizza.

The beach was cleaned regularly of debris. The view was great, clear water, tide in and out was amazing to watch, watch out for your sandals can be swept away when the tide comes in.

LOCATION
Right smack in the middle of Boracay's 4km stretch. Situated in the most central part of Station 2. A few steps away from D'Mall yet far enough from frenzied crowds. Beachfront hotel with sun beds for guest's use and security personnel looking over. Hotel room can filter out most of the noise that comes from the live bands at night.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Beds are luxurious and soft, with a romantic canopy design. Rooms are large enough and have their own balcony. Bathrooms are small but very clean, with everything in top working order. Suites have their own private pools and sunbeds overlooking the beach.

Complete amenities: internet access, cable TV, complimentary water and coffee, a refrigerator, mini-bar, safety deposit box. Rooms are impeccably cleaned daily and on request.

SERVICE
What really captured our hearts while staying in Boracay Mandarin is their exemplary, impeccable service. Without fail, their staff is clearly trained to go the extra mile. Everything was quick and efficient, from helping us arrange water activities to personally attending to every request at any time of the day or night.

On our first anniversary, the staff surprised us during our stay by covering our bed and bath with rose petals, along with our anniversary date on the bed. It was so sweet and thoughtful!

FACILITIES
Breakfast is good with a variety of freshly cooked food: Filipino, American, Asian served daily at their in-house restaurant, Don Vito. Try the Don Vito's special for great pizza. Mandarin Spa also has the BEST Traditional Filipino Hilot massage in Boracay Island.

Enjoyed my stay here immensely and will definitely be back! You can't go wrong with Boracay Mandarin!

Room Tip: Some rooms have an extra "tatami bed" (Japanese-style floor bed) for families or bigger gr...

+ Nice 4 star hotel, great location at station 2, beachfront with "everything" around the hotel.
+ Comfortable beds and aircon.
+ Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
+ Free Wifi and Breakfast.

- There is no dust-brush in the room, its unavoidably bringing sand into the room, it would be better if I could wipe it away on my own instead of wait for next day room cleaning.
- Pool is not that exiting, no play zone for smaller children.
- After paid nearly 60.000 pesos I had to pay additional 150 pesos for a broken drinking glass that my child accidently broke in the room. (quite stingily...)
- The whole hotel is becoming a bit old and worn, however everything works ok.
- The bar located at the beach plays music rather laud and it’s disturbing if you want to sleep before 11PM.

I recommend this hotel mainly because of the friendly staff and the very good location to beach and restaurants. I will come back probably next visit.
I also recommend to order transport from and to airport (625 Pesos per person / one way), it is really worth it compared with arranging your own transport.

Room Tip: Order hotel transport from and to airport (caticlan), you will regret it if you arrange your own tra...

Having the room all to myself was a luxury!! The service was great - from the port pick-up to the room clean-up. The room was has enough space and had a balcony to walk around in. The bed was clean and soft. For those very particular about the bathroom and aircon: the bathroom was a bit small but there is room enough for me to move around and do my business; sink countertop has ample space to put all my toiletries. The aircon has a remote control - temperature/fan speed can be adjusted according to preference. The staff was very courteous and accommodating. The hotel is conveniently located smack in the middle of restaurants, shops and water activity centers, and the beach an easy step away. I would definitely come back to this hotel in my next visit to Boracay!
