“Worth every peso”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014

We stayed at the resort for a 3 day, 2 nights package. We were supposed to stay for 4 nights, but we decided to go to a sidetrip to Cebu and Boracay instead.

First thing that people would need to know: BOOK DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL ITSELF! Boracay Gardens had a package for 3 days, 2 nights, which includes the accomodation, breakfast and dinner, and round trip transportation (to and from Caticlan. If you come from Kalibo, there's a slight additional fee.) - which saves you at least PHP 5000 if you book it separately.

Speaking of booking it with the hotel, the reservation folks in Manila were do courteous and efficient. They made reservations and booking so easy, that early on - I knew I made the right choice in booking this hotel.

Now, upon arrival to Caticlan, they were to usher you to their own private waiting area - just outside the airport. From their, vacation starts. I was utterly suprised and amused that i was not even allowed to touch and carry my bags. The nice folks from the hotel took care of everything, took pictures of us in the private boat, and guided us through until we got to the van that would bring us to the hotel. We felt like celebrities!

After about a 15 minute drive, we finally reached the hotel. You can still see touches of the old architecture of the hotel. For those who don't know, this hotel used to have a previous owner and quite frankly, the design THEN sucked big time. I wouldn't even think of staying here. After the Regency/Hennan group took over, the resort blossomed big time and this is the resort we ended up staying at.

We got a premium room - that had a very excellent view of the pool and the sunset at night. Now, when the hotel renovated itself, it morphed into more of a minimalist, classic design in the hotel and the rooms. Now, we were placed at the old wing. The room was big and spacious. However, it just was a big hard to mix old furniture with new stuff. It just didn't fit.

Now, if you were to compare the design of our room to the new rooms in the new wing, now the new room were gorgeous - top of the line! Guess the hotel didn't have time to renovate all the rooms all at the same time. They're probably saving money by keeping stuff that still works - but if it doesn't mix, throw it away. Or maybe, combine it with something that works.

Anyway, we loved the bath tub and shower. The toilet was an invention out of Japan or something... it had this small tube that comes out at the right time to do it's thing and wash. Funny but classy!

The pools were wonderful. The ones nearest to our end were connected to the Premier rooms/Grand rooms with pool access. There was another set of pools near the restaurant/Garden cafe and the poolside bar.

The pool side bar had a whole set of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that you can enjoy! The barista was also very entertaining and knew how to whip up a conversation with guests.

Food at the Garden cafe was okay. It was filling but somehow, it tasted and was very obvious that it was heated not fresh. However, there was also set of choices that were really tasty. it was just obvious that it had been there for some time. I would have probably enjoyed it more if it was fresher.

The hotel is in the middle of Station 2,so you had quick access to everything. The beachfront area were nice and secured, complete with umbrellas and towels for rent. One thing that they can work on is the beach front sign itself. It was very obvious that it was from the old owners - and it looked so old and worned out. After the renovations within the hotel, they may want to renovate the beach front area as well. It definitely pales in comparison to it's sister hotel - Boracay Regency - or to the other hotels in the area.

Otherwise, no big complaints. They make you feel welcome and cared for in the hotel, and is definitely worth every peso spent. I will definitely go back and stay more nights. I have to enjoy the pools more!

Room Tip: Book directly with the hotel!

The place was nice and clean. The staff friendly and courteous. Would stay again. I enjoyed the setting and easy check in and check out. I wish I would of had more time to stay, Boracay is a jewel of the Philippines.

We stayed for 5 nights. Our stay was very comfortable. The location is very convenient. The pools are very nice. There is a private path to the beach. However the approach to the beach can be improved. The breakfast had a good selection. The buffet dinner is good value for money. Some areas of improvement-
1.More varieties of fruit can be incorporated in the breakfast buffet.
2.All the rooms should have a balcony. We had requested for an early check in which was thankfully granted to us by the hotel. However we had no choice but to take a room without a balcony which can be a bit inconvenient in a beach destination.
3.There should be free Wi Fi connectivity in the entire hotel instead of just the lobby.

The staff is very polite and helpful. All in all a good hotel for an ideal beach holiday.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to write your review of our property. We are glad to hear that you had a comfortable stay and that you found our location very convenient and our pools very nice. Your compliments toward our staff are also very much appreciated and will be shared with everyone.

With regard to your comment about your room without a balcony, our record shows that your reservation was a Deluxe room. All Deluxe rooms have no balcony. We regret that you did not raise this issue while you were still at the resort, we could have explained the details of your reservation.

Thank you again and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Boracay garden resort situated within meters from the magnificent beach with it's soft white sands and crystal clear warm water. We wouldn't have second thoughts about returning to this resort in the future. A great clean, well maintained, quiet resort. No problems with the shower hot and cold water supply. The staff were exrtemly friendly and very helpful at all times. Free Wi-Fi was included, a little slow but again we were on holidays!!! . We did have a bit of difficulty initially accessing the internet, however, within minutes an IT expert arrived to our room and remedied the problem with no fuss or ado. The buffet breakfast was faultless and the staff who greeted us each morning were extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. The swimming pools were magnificent, sparkling clean and well maintained. A very quiet resort away from the night club areas. in the vicinity of the beach area, we were constantly approached by sprukers and sellers but I personally found that a polite.... "No thank You' was enough to be left alone with out any further harassment. Also a short walk took you to the various "market areas" where you could purchase anything from fresh sea food (and have it cooked for you) to souvenirs and trinkets. Overall, a highly recommended resort to spend your vacation especially if you have young children.

Room Tip: Room preference is a personal choice, we had room (216) on the 2nd floor with great views of the poo...

I have booked via Expedia for 3D/2N in the Grand room only to realize that I paid more vs direct booking. I learned about the Boracay Garden Resort here in Trip Advisor and made aware of the feedbacks about the resort being dominated by Korean tourists, the on-going renovations, the paltry selection of the buffet etc. However, these things did not deter me from choosing this resort after seeing the abundance of swimming pools in the resort and affordable price point.

Stayed there Feb 27 arriving at the resort 10AM. The resort was packed by Korean tourists and this can be intimidating if you’re from a different nationality. Proceeded to check-in and I was informed that the standard check-in time is 3PM and they could only accommodate an early arrangement if the room is already vacated.

Please note that the resort appears to be operating in full-capacity daily as it seems to be popular among Koreans.

They have asked me for my mobile phone number so that they can contact me once the room is already available.

We decided to have an early lunch and at around 12NN, I received a call that the room is already ready. We headed back to the resort, and to my surprise, they gave me a free upgrade - instead of just the Grand room, we were given a room with pool access! Our room was at 118 – corner room nearest to the lobby.

Nice To Have

The room is tastefully designed: 1 queen-size and 1 single bed, bath tub, rain-fall shower, safety box, LCD TV, and to top it all of, a veranda directly to the pool. In my opinion, it was unnecessary as I could live without the swimming pool access but it was really lovely and it feels luxurious. Please see pictures uploaded in the gallery.

One of the Most Underrated Resorts

Only if the Korean tourists could write and review the resort, Boracay Garden Resort could easily top the lists of Boracay resorts here in Trip Advisor. The resort does enjoy a huge following from Koreans. Initially, I thought this would be an issue but apparently not. Koreans are polite in nature and never did I feel discriminated or treated differently during my stay.

Beach-front Access

Just in case you fell in love with Boracay Garden’s swimming pool complex, the resort does offer beach-front access. They have their own beach lounge and what stood out for me is that they have personnel in the beach-front to adjust the umbrellas as the sun moves and to oversee your personal belongings while you swim in the beach unlike the other resorts. Please see photo uploaded in the gallery.

Needs Improvement

Of course, no resort is perfect so here are some of the minor gripes I had:
1. Breakfast buffet has a nice spread but the choices could have been better.
2. The resort requires you to log for each beach towel you’ve requested. While I understand that it is a cost for the resort to lose towels, it cheapens a bit the stay experience if the resort monitors the use of towels.
3. There were mosquitoes in our room. The resort could use some pest control to address this especially for the rooms with pool access and for guests who want to leave the doors open and enjoy the beautiful pools.
4. The resort entrance in the beach needs to be renovated. It’s just down-right tacky and is not presentable. Outsiders would not expect that the poorly done signage is hiding a luxurious and fabulous resort.

Room Tip: Get the rooms with pool access. Get up early for breakfast as it's get crowded if you're la...
