Stayed at Royal Park with family and friends for a week.

THE PROS:

The location is perfect. It really is right in the middle of everything and just a short walk to almost every place that matters.

They have an acceptable beach front where your kids can play while you watch them from the comfort of the resort's verandah restaurant that offers free WIFI. You may have your food cooked at a minimal fee. They also have nightly acoustic performances where most drinks are served at happy hour rates.

Rooms are huge. Occupied 5 of them on the second floor, most with two (2) queen sized beds each. All A/Cs were in good working condition; 21' cable TV; mini fridge served its purpose; the bathroom, just a bit smaller than the room itself may be outdated but clean and everything worked well. Room has ample space for hanging towels and the like.

I think the best asset of this place are their people - talk about service with a smile. They were were very courteous, polite and extremely patient ( especially with wet, sandy and even noisy children running around the place most of the time).

THE CONS:

If only to compete with the rise of the more contemporary resorts and lodging options available in Boracay, Royal Park no doubt needs to re-model and upgrade. BUT if this means doubling their rates as well then with a little refurbishing here and there; replacing old bathroom fixtures; maintaining ultimate cleanliness with everything else in good condition plus the added value of a wonderful hotel staff - it is still a very good choice especially for families and groups.

Let me end by saying that if you fancy upscale and state of the art accommodations, this place is definitely not it.

Royal Park is a NO FRILLS kind of hotel, a practical choice where you are sure to get more than your money's worth.

We stayed at the royal park hotel just this march.I was a bit apprehensive bec. one of the reviews said it was moldy smelling and was already thinking where we could transfer on our 2nd night before we even got to Boracay. We've already paid in advance and I've read the reviews here AFTER paying..Check-in time was 1 p.m. and we arrived 10:30 a.m. We were allowed to leave our bags at their safe and after a little while our bags were transferred to an available room. The room was huge and the aircon was okay, you can set it a specific temp. The bathroom is large too with hot shower available. The location was great! It was near Jonah's shakes and Willy's rock. It is also about 7 mins. walk to D mall( i'm a slow walker, though). The breakfast was just okay too. You can choose from Continental, Filipino or Chinese. I would consider staying there again when I go back to Boracay.

We arrived in Boracay quite late so didn't have time to look around at other places and this was the first stop.
Our 1st room was on the ground floor room 105 and is on the left of the corridor. The room is huge and easily accommodated the 5 of us(3 adults and 2 children). This room was very mouldy smelling but thought after the first night it would disappear but it didn't. Next day we moved to room 104 right next door also on the left of the corridor and was only marginally better than the 1st room but we stayed. Our clothes smelt really bad when we left. Also the rear of the hotel is the road and is quite noisy throughout the day and early evening.
Bathroom was a yucky blue and we wore our thongs everytime we went in there. The air conditioner sits over the beds and is OK if you don't mind it blowing over your body all night - a great way to catch a cold!
Located on the border of station 1 & 2 and right on the beach it truely is in a great location meaning it is quiet enough around there but well within walking distance from any action. Very handy especially with a young family.
This place is in the balance on whether to come back or not, probably if we had a room not ground level it would have been better. Staff are very nice which is typical of Philippino people and it is possible to negotiate the staying rate especially if you stay a little longer than average.

because we had already paid by bank transfer for one night's stay at the royal park, we stayed in room 101 for one day. we couldn't stand the moldy smell and the motel feel of the place. decor and everything else about the hotel were dated (circa 80s). fixtures were dirty, room was dim and had no windows/view. we tried to look for a better room within the hotel but they all smelled and felt the same. we transferred to willy's beach resort in station 1 as soon we we got up on day 2 (willy's is the PERFECT bora hotel!).

it must be said, too, that we arranged for airport pick-up at caticlan and paid P375 per person (other more luxurious hotels charged even less and provided airconditioned shuttle services, but we didn't know that until much later). we were cramped into a small tricycle and were ferried in a rickety pump boat. we found out later on that royal park could have easily booked us in a fastcraft instead for a measly additional P5 only. to top it all off, the hotel representative/front desk clerk who picked us up at the airport tried to con us into agreeing to an over-priced island-hopping tour even before we got to put our backs down in our room!

the royal park has obviously seen better days, but it's long past that. bad service, bad room, bad location, bad neighborhood. no redeeming value whatsoever.

We stayed here for 3days, 2 nights..booked 3 separate rooms. It was more than I had expected. The room and the bathroom are huge! The hotel, room, and lobby are all well kept. The accomodation is afforable and the person who booked us, Sheng (in the resort) - is friendly and easy to talk to.
The location is excellent! Just right beside boracay crown resort, a few steps from Jonahs shake and Hawaiian bbq..and about a minute walk to the mall. I could really stay here again:)

Royal park has a really good location, beach front, middle of everything nice and not too crowded. very accessible from the beach or from the main road, they have entrance on both access point :)

The rooms are very spacious and has high ceiling, even the bathroom is huge!

It's a good stay since I got a good price.

But no blower, no toothbrush, no hand towels and no bowl spray. The hot shower is a bit old and worn, and the hook of the shower head isn't useful anymore so you have to hold the shower head the whole process of bathing. We stayed at rm 101

There's no local phone on the side table, there's one in the bathroom but i don't think it's functional even it has a dial tone.

The worse for me is that there is no internet or even a little signal for a wifi. So we have to go and snatch some signal on the road since we have to check the house & the kids once in a while during our vacation.

But overall, it's a good stay anyway. The people are friendly and accommodating and the room is really good!
I would really like to go back there but i'd love to try some other hotels
