We had so much about Boracay and have been wanting to go for so long and I am so glad we decided to stay at the Mandala Spa and Villas. The staff are very very very helpful. We arranged for a pick up from the Kalibo airport via the resort and they arranged for a very clean car and a very nice driver who got us to Caticlan Jetty Port. At the jetty, another staff member met us and accompanied us to the resort. We reached only around 6:00 PM after all the travelling and they welcomed us with ginger tea and then took us to our rooms. There are totally 13 rooms in the resorts, so it's very nice and small. I think their restaurant is under renovation so they don't offer FnB services in the resorts, except for a very small but filling breakfast. They have tie ups with certain restaurants in D'Mall so you can order in different cuisines from Greek to Japanese to Italian.
When the door to our room was opened, I was just taken aback by how beautiful it was. Maybe it was the night lights or the rose petals on our floor and bed or just the lovely circular room and a lovely huge bathroom with an outdoor shower. We absolutely loved it. The balcony has a lovely lounge rocking chair that feels like you want to be on it for the rest of the day :)
The shampoo, soap and conditioner they have in the rooms are organic and smell very nice. The mistake we did was not booking our spa slot earlier. Looks like the spa at Mandala is VERY famous and they were booked out for Saturday. Fortunately we got a slot for Sunday and didn't miss out ! So please book your spa appointment as soon you book the hotel, especially if you are travelling on the weekend.
The view from the balcony in the room is mostly of the foliage around, but you can see a glimpse of the ocean. We didn't go down to the white sand beach but there is a '100 steps' shortcut from behind the hotel to get to the beach.
I signed up for yoga class : 9:30 -10:30 AM and the instructor was really nice and i had a refreshing, calm and lovely yoga practice. The venue where we practiced was lovely, a circular room, all open on the sides with white flowy curtain fluttering in the wind :)
The staff also helped us book an Island hopping tour and the adventure representative came to pick us up from the resort.
Overall Mandala Spa was a great experience, it's far away from the crowded parts of Boracay. The approach to the hotel is lovely and the whole design aspect if very nice.
We wish we had stayed longer!
