“Its a rock in the sea”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

The beach gets narrow as you approach and there are boats on the shore so its quite difficult to get along the beach, the odour around is not too good either. If you are around there take a look but dont take a special trip

“A good photo spot”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

Sunset photo's are good with the Rock as your background. But you will have to compete with a hundred other people trying to get their picture taken there.

“Nice, but nothing exciting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

Background: Located near Boat Station 1 on Boracay Island, Willy's Rock is a volcanic rock formation jutting from the shallow water about 100 metres from shore. Accessible during low tide, it is the only feature that "obstructs" the 4-km unobstructed view of White Beach. Named after nearby Willy's Beach Club Hotel (formerly Willy's Place), Willy's Rock has a short, man-made staircase leading to the top, where a shrine containing a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary is located. This statue was donated by Andrew E's wife (a local resident) when she won a Miss Town Fiesta contest many years ago. Being devout Catholics, the locals have left it there ever since.

Liked: The natural beauty of the rock outcrop. Also, the Peanut Butter-Banana-Chocolate Shake from nearby Jonah's Fruit Shake.

Disliked: Owing to its popularity, a long queue may form at the base of the staircase at lowtide, especially during the peak season (Mar-Apr) and local holidays. The gathering crowds will linger, spoiling your great photo op.

Tip: Find out from dive shops or local newspaper when the next low tide is. Remember, in these parts, there's a low tide and then there's a lower low tide. Visit early at sunrise, before the throng of tourists arrive. It is a crime to collect sand from the beach (anywhere in White Beach, for that matter). And the prayer "donation" box? Huff... a scam.

“Willy's Rock”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

It is the most iconic landmark at White Beach and is located at Station 3.

Well, Willy's Rock is just a rock with a staircase leading up to the statue of Virgin Mary for those who want to do some prayers. It makes a nice backdrop for sunset photography. Other than taking some photos, there is nothing else to see.
