What a great place to stay!

We stayed at their only deluxe room with a giant balcony overlooking the beach. It was perfect.

The location of this place (and our room) made it feel like we were living on the beach, which is why we come to Boracay.

The kids really loved this place for the same reasons I loved this place which is why we will definitely try to book the same room when we come back to Boracay.

Room: The room was so-so. was quite disappointed with the furnishing. Don't expect a nice room! (2/5)

View: we had room 205 and was the beach front view. But if you sit on the balcony chair, your view will be partially blocked by the metal grills. wake up to the sea view. (4/5)

Breakfast: For breakfast, they only has either american or Philippine breakfast. There's only 1 serving and it will be served by the hotel staff. There's no buffet breakfast. If you wish to have extra breakfast, you need to pay extra. Food was mediocre too.

Location: It's situated in a busy location with a lot of buzz. Yes its near D-mall, but then again, there's nothing fantastic about d-mall. Just more restaurants and eateries. Which you could find along the streets too. And if i were to choose again, i would choose a quieter location instead. Boracay is so small that you can walk from station 1 to station 2 in 15 mins. why bother booking somewhere noisy?

Noise: As a bar is beside the hotel (just 5m away), they play outdoor music till 12 midnight. So if you are a light sleeper or you sleep early, expect the noise.

Service: Our room did not have house keeping for 3 nights. We reminded them for 2 days but still no house keeping done. they are not rude but they don't provide the best service either. (2.5/5)

Shuttle service: The hotel can arrange for 2 way shuttle but its payable at 1975 Peso (all in). I would recommend that you book via "southwest" shuttle as the price is about 600 peso 1 way (all in). even if its 2 ways, its just 1200 peso.

This was our second stay at Crystal Sands in two years and we love it as much as we did the first time! Since our last visit a year ago the resort was bought by the Hennen Resort Group and of yet nothing has changed except some personnel who worked there before. This is our kind of place---no flashy just comfortable. Great location on Station 2 next to Station 1 and about a hundred yards or so from D'Mall. Directly on the beach with beach view rooms that won't set you back a arm and a leg. We had room 201 with a direct view to the beach. The rooms are not the greatest but they serve their purpose and are clean and good size--the bathrooms are a little small but again they serve their purpose and have a good water heater in the shower. Our room was cleaned everyday even if we had to drop a suttle hint every once in awhile--no big deal. The free breakfast every morning with unlimited coffee was also nice--choose from a western breakfast or a Filipino breakfast--lunch and dinner are also served at the resort with dinning either outside or inside. They have beach chairs in front of the resort with umbrellas for guest use and security makes sure non-guests do not use the beach chairs and will help you move your umbrella if needed. Also they do have 24 hour security at the property. The a/c worked great and they did need to push two single beds together in our room to make a king size bed--no biggy- it worked. The sand in front of the resort is sooo nice and the water is very shallow once you get in with no rocks in the water just pure sand. It does get very busy in front of the resort all day and into the night but that is with every hotel on the beach as people walk up and down the beach in front of the resorts--we loved sitting outside at the resorts tables each night drinking coffee and having a Danish from Starbucks which is just down the beach a short ways and people watching. Also there is a ATM right next to the resort if you need some fast cash--several times the ATM machines at D'Mall ran out of money. Yes you will be bothered a bit by people trying to sell you something while sunbathing on the beach or walking to D'Mall or anywhere else--it's just a fact of life in Boracay now--lots of people and getting busier every year it seems. We never heard any loud music coming from any resort that we could hear as another reviewer had complained about. When we landed at the airport we could see they had expanded and lengthened the runway so soon bigger jets will be able to fly into Boracay instead of just the twin engine turbo props now used--more people -- what can you do? Paradise found--paradise lost--goes with the territory I guess.

Room Tip: All the Superior rooms have a balcony with ocean views. Second floor rooms seem more secure and have better views--we stayed in room 201

We stayed in crystal sand for two nights. We got to boracay at 10am. We tried checking in early but our room was still occupied so we had to wait for the afternoon check in time of 3pm. They took our things for safekeeping so we can start exploring the island and come back to check in. We got back after lunch, and started with our mojitos (with a 1.5kick! And was charged to our room inspite of not checking in yet)and around 2pm we were advised that our room was ready. We got room 205! Hurray! The best superior room you can get. When i booked thru email, i just asked for a good room to spend our 10th year anniversary, but didnt expect to get the best one :)
the room is spacious, clean and the veranda is just great. Most of our pictures were taken from the veranda. The view was so nice that when we wake up,we cant help but to stay there for 15minutes before we get breakfast. Breakfast is quick and hefty.
While chilling out at the beach, the servers can see you and you can order ice cold beer thru them. We had about 12 bottles as we enjoyed the sun and waited for the sunset.
The resort is located right on the border where boats stop to dock, so the beach right in front of the hotel is where most go to for a peaceful swim. Its in the middle of nightlife of station 1 and retail stores and activity services of station 2.
I check-in online for our flights and asked if i can have our boarding passes printed, i emailed it to then and in two minutes i have the printouts.
If i were to give them feedback, staff should be able to anticipate needs of guests. We had to ask for beachtowels, water after meals and ashtrays all the time. Although it is given right away, it can help if they observe the behaviors. This is actually common to all the establishments in boracay that we've been to, so i guess that's just how they all are.
Still, if you're going fir the laid-back relaxing experience in boracay, i highly recommend them.

When I was looking a for hotel for me and my girlfriend stay in for our mid-November escapade to the island with our friends I originally planned to book us a room in The Red Coconut, but as fate would have it they were all fully booked, so I searched and searched until I came across the Crystal Sand.

First I was bit hesitant because of its nondescript facade, but when I saw its rating in tripadvisor I slowly got convinced that they could be our home for the three nights that we will stay in Boracay, and the great discount from Agoda only furthered my decision to finally book it!

We got the room 101, although at first I got a bit disappointed because I wanted to get the 201 room but I just let it pass. Soon enough I learned to love our spot, I mean you can sit in your veranda while sipping your favorite drink and watch the people and the day laze away while feeling the island vibe. It was fantastic! Plus the size of our veranda, surprisingly, accommodated all of my friends while drinking beer waiting for Epic to finally reach full-on island blast!

Highly recommended! You will pay for the view and the friendliness of the staff, and try their sirloin steak wrapped in bacon (forgot what it was called).

Lastly, it struck the balance between near enough to go where the happenings are and far enough for a goodnight's sleep.

Will definitely go back!

Room Tip: If you're not too picky and want the real beach front experience choose the room 101.
